The 2023 Clash On The Coast took place on March 24-26, 2023, in South Carolina, continuing their annual tradition. Every year, this competition gathers the greatest Strongman athletes from the 105-kilogram weight class, and Strongwoman athletes from the 82-kilogram weight class. Unsurprisingly, this year was the same, as the rosters for both divisions featured some marvelous athletes. In the end, Andrew Clayton won the men’s division, while Sumer Johnson came out victorious in the women’s division.
The men’s division was slightly more competitive than the women’s one, as it all came down to the wire. However, prevailing on the final attempt, Andrew Clayton clinched the gold with a 0.5-point lead over second-placed Dan Hughes.
On the other hand, Sumer Johnson accumulated a 4-point lead over Jodi Kennedy by the end of the competition, and thus claimed the victory with comfort.

In the final event, Andrew Clayton produced one of the most epic performances in recent Strongman history. Having completed the required number of repetitions to seal his victory, Andrew decided to deliver a speech. There was a sense of disappointment behind him for not being invited over the past few years, and he considered this victory as proof of his greatness.
In addition to being extremely satisfied with her victory, Summer Johnson saw it as a high point in her career.
