Competitors from the Men’s Physique division gathered for the 2023 Musclecontest International Philippines Pro on October 21, where they battled for a qualifier spot on the 2024 Mr. Olympia stage.
While the location, venue, and date have yet to be revealed for 2024 Mr. Olympia, that hasn’t stopped athletes from gunning for their qualifications. However, fans and competitors alike are counting down until the 2023 Mr. Olympia competition, which is rapidly approaching.
The 2023 Mr. Olympia event will happen from November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida’s Orange County Convention Center. It was a thrilling show in Subic Bay, Philippines this weekend as Joven Sagabain emerged victorious in an action-packed night.

The Men’s Physique class delivered an exciting competition in the Philippines. In the finals, Alejandro Ruiz Borrego emerged as a frontrunner with an excellent V-taper and dry conditioning, especially from the front. His last event came at the 2022 Tunisha Pro Show in eighth place last November.

Opposite of Borrego was Joven Sagabain, whose muscularity, balance, and shoulders guided him to success throughout the judging process. Sagabain was last seen in action at the 2023 Tokyo Pro, which he won in dominant fashion. Following some great comparisons and a posedown, Joeven Sagabain was declared the winner. Alehandro Ruiz Borrego bagged second, and Jingyu Xi took third place.
