Male Lineup Overview

The greatest legend among all the men is undoubtedly Rich Froning. He has been one of the most influential figures in the entirety of the sport, claiming four Individual CrossFit Games and additional six Teams CrossFit Games titles. So, he is once again coming into the 2023 Rogue Invitational CrossFit Legends as a favorite.

Another legend of the sport is Josh Bridges, a six-time CrossFit Games competitor with three top 10 finishes under his belt. Josh is also a former Navy Seal, making him an all-around incredible man.

Jason Kalipa has also left his mark on the sport, putting in eight CrossFit Games appearances during his time as a professional athlete. He stood on the podium twice, claiming silver in 2013 and bronze in 2014.

Mikko Salo earned his legendary status by becoming one of the first few athletes to win the CrossFit Games back in 2009. He then made three more appearances at the Games, but could never match the victory.

Tommy Hackenbruck was initially competing as an individual, with his best result being a second place finish at the 2009 CrossFit Games. He then switched to the Teams division in 2012 where he immediately claimed the Games title. Tommy and his team then defended the title in 2013, after which they lost it in 2014.

The other four men achieved legendary status through their exceptional performances during the sport’s early stages.

Another well known name in the female lineup for the 2023 Rogue Invitational CrossFit Legends is Sam Briggs. Her most notable success was winning the 2013 Individual CrossFit Games, but her consistency and perseverance was also admired largely. Sam ended up making a total of 11 appearances at the Games in Individual and Masters divisions.

Kristan Clever was one of the first athletes to earn the Fittest Woman on Earth title back in 2010, making her an icon of the sport. Apart from that, she took part in five more Games editions.

Arguably the freshest athlete on the list, Kari Pearce has taken part in seven consecutive CrossFit Games competitions, with her most recent one coming in 2021. However, her most successful one was just one year before, since Kari took the bronze medal in 2020.

Tanya Wagner did not spend too much time on the biggest stage, but made great use of it. She took part in only two CrossFit Games competitions, but managed to win in 2008 and take silver in her second appearance.

The Legends division has proven to be quite entertaining at the Rogue Invitational contests in the past. So, this year should be especially interesting to watch due to the strength of the lineup. Less than one month is left until the competition takes place and the hype is building up with each day that passes.
