The 2024 CrossFit Games took place from August 8-11 in Fort Worth, Texas. The competition started off with the tragic death of one competitor, but the remainder of the weekend saw dozens of athletes pay homage to their colleague by carrying on with the contest. Ultimately, James Sprague and Tia-Clair Toomey tallied up the most points, thus becoming the Fittest Man and Woman on Earth.

Tia-Clair Toomey had taken the lead prior to the final day of the 2024 CrossFit Games, while James Sprague was sitting in second place. So, Tia-Clair easily held on to her lead, but James shocked everyone by making an incredible comeback on the final workout of the competition. He beat Brent Fikowski and managed to take the title in what was his second appearance at the 2024 CrossFit Games.

Jayson Hopper crowned one of his best performances in years with a second event win at the 2024 CrossFit Games. His impressive win in the Dickies Triplet event proved that Jayson has grown into a fierce competitor who, with some more time, might be contending for the title. In order to secure first place, Jayson had to beat multiple rivals, with James Sprague trailing him by just 3 seconds.

As would be expected from Toomey, she finished the event with a substantial lead and even had enough energy to interact with the fans nearby. The event format was absolutely perfect for her, as running and lifting weights are her best abilities.

Peak 360 CrossFit had an incredible day three and got off to an even better start on the final day. They won the event and, by doing so, finally broke through into the top three overall. The situation went in their favor, as all of the top three Teams placed relatively low on the Fort Worth Shuffle event.

CrossFit Mayhem won the event, but the spotlight was on Raw Iron CrossFit, who, with a second-place event finish, officially became the 2024 Fittest Team On Earth. However, one of the team’s best members, Kara Saunders, announced that she is retiring from the sport. She ended her career in the best way possible, leading Raw Iron CrossFit to a win at the 2024 CrossFit Games.

Men’s Results

Although the Chad workout lasted for nearly 45 minutes, the battle for first place was still extremely tight. However, after performing 1,000 step-ups, James Sprague and Austin Hatfield found themselves finishing within just seconds of each other. Hatfield had the lead at one point, but James Sprague picked up the pace on the final few reps and managed to pick up another event win.

Men’s Results

The former 2x Fittest Man On Earth managed to clinch his first event victory at the 2024 CrossFit Games during the Clean Ladder workout. He easily passed through the first two rounds and found himself in the top ten athletes who got to compete in the final round as well. Justin was not the fastest to the bar, but he capitalized on the mistake of his rival and managed to add 100 points to his tally. Justin needed just 37.24 seconds to finish the entire third round.

Women’s Results

Tia-Clair Toomey once again proved why she is considered the greatest CrossFit athlete of all time by securing her fourth event win at the 2024 CrossFit Games. She crushed the dreams of Kyra Milligan on the Clean Ladder, beating the US representative by just 0.1 seconds. Kyra had a perfect outing but still could not dethrone Tia-Clair.

Men’s Results

Although he was out of the top 15 overall going into the event, Saxon Panchik’s abilities aligned well with the task at hand. So, he ended up winning the event with a time of 6:31, while no other athlete finished in under seven minutes. Panchik’s performance looked incredibly smooth, especially since he mastered the freestanding handstand push-ups, unlike many other athletes.

She has trained gymnastics for multiple years and felt comfortable performing handstand maneuvers. This allowed her to finish the event nearly half a minute before anyone else, with a time of 6:03.41.

Team Peak 360 CrossFit took the top spot in the Inverted Earthworm event, being the only ones to complete all of the required reps. However, they locked out their final rep just a fraction of a second before the time limit ran out and did not even get to symbolically cross the finish line. However, they were miles ahead of any other team, as the rest failed to even get close to finishing the event.

Raw Iron CrossFit Mayhem Thunder wanted the leader’s jersey going into the final day of the 2024 CrossFit Games. So, the only way to ensure that was to win the ‘3 Amigos’ workout. It was clear from the start that Raw Iron was the favorite, but they still had to beat some other very impressive teams. The synchro wall-ball shots helped them get ahead, while their performance in the dumbbell snatches defended their position.

Following his disastrous 33rd place finish on event one, Patrick Vellner managed to pick up maximum points on the second event. He narrowly outperformed Jayson Hopper, finishing in a time of 14:14.05. This helped him move up the leaderboard, but he was still far away from his desired position.

Tia-Clair Toomey picked up right where she left off on day one, claiming her second event victory and raising her point tally up to 200 points. She was nearly half a minute faster than any other woman, which shows that she came hungry for her 7th title of Fittest Woman On Earth.

Men’s Results

Jayson Hoppe gave 100% from the start of the event and maintained the pace throughout the entire 2:32.48 minutes. With this, he grabbed his first event win at the CrossFit Games, marking one of the biggest moments of his career. He was actually behind Dallin Pepper throughout the majority of the race but overtook his rival on the last round of the workout.

Women’s Results

Grace Walton did not have to wait long for her first event victory, as she won the third event of her debut at the 2024 CrossFit Games. She was convincingly the fastest athlete in the field, beating everyone by multiple seconds in a very short event. With this, Grace shows that she is one of the biggest female prospects in the sport of CrossFit.

Men’s Results

Years of doing rugby served Ricky Garard well, as he managed to finish first in both the 1,600-meter run and the sprints up and down the field. In fact, he found himself behind James Sprague at one moment, but had an incredible final sprint that saw him catch up and beat his rival to take a second consecutive event win.

In order to perform well in the final event of day two, the women had to have both the stamina and explosive power. This perfectly fits the description of Tia-Clair Toomey, who has previously beaten even the majority of men in running events. Her combined time for the entire workout came out to 1:13.10, which gave her the win.

In quite a symbolic fashion, Lazar Đukić’s former team, CrossFit Mayhem, managed to win the first event of the 2024 CrossFit Games. They finished all aspects of the workout in 12:53 minutes and revealed in an interview that they are giving their all in order to honor Lazar. On the other hand, a lot of other teams waited 60 seconds before starting the event, paying tribute to their colleague in a unique way.

CrossFit Oslo Kriger Rizz won the second event of the day, as the workout seemed tailored towards their strength. All four of the team members were absolutely incredible, not making a mistake throughout the entire event. Their final time came out to 6:49.10, while two other teams managed to finish below 7 minutes.

CrossFit Torian wrapped up day two of the 2024 CrossFit Games with an event win. They kept a solid pace throughout the 1,600-meter run, despite the fact that they had to hold a rope between them. They then pushed a Bob which weighed as much as a grand piano and crossed the finish line at the 6:52.81 minute mark.

Men’s Results

Jelle Hoste grabbed his second career win at the CrossFit Games following an incredible performance on the first workout of the 2024 CrossFit Games. He was not the fastest man on the run, but overtook all of his rivals once they transitioned to the swim. He managed to swim in a straight line and with a great technique, which allowed him to dominate the workout.

Women’s Results

After missing last year’s Games because of pregnancy, Tia-Clair Toomey won the very first event of the 2024 CrossFit Games. She was far ahead of all other women and even beat the majority of the men’s roster. This marked her 36th career event win at the CrossFit Games and served as a statement that she is hungry for her 7th title.
