The 2024 RGV Classic delivered this season. The event took place in McAllen, Texas, and hosted a total of three divisions on August 31: Classic Physique, Bikini, and Wellness. As one of the later qualifiers of the season for Mr. Olympia, pressure reached an all-time high for athletes hoping to gain entry for the biggest event of the year.
The deadline to qualify for the Mr. Olympia contest ends on September 15. With so little time and opportunities left on the table for IFBB Pros, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Becoming a top Classic Physique contender is a tall task as all competitors chase the reigning five-time Classic Physique Olympia Chris Bumstead‘s title.
Bikini is another ultra-competitive category known for hosting a staggering number of competitors. Jennifer Dorie sits atop the throne thanks to her win in 2023. In Wellness, it takes lower body density, proportions, and soft muscle tone to make a statement. The division, currently ruled by Wellness queen Francielle Mattos, continues to grow in popularity.
