8- Ray Moon – The Oldest Bodybuilder

ray-moon2Ray Moon 86, is world’s oldest competitive male bodybuilder. Most people on 80s would either be retired or lying in a hospital bed but Ray is lifting weights, and making gainz.

ray-moon1He was a drinker and smoker until the age of 70. He falls in love with gym in Melbourne that changed his life. Now 86, Ray is the world’s oldest competitive bodybuilder.

May 19, 2013 – 83-year-old Ray Moon receives the award for the World’s Oldest Bodybilder during the 2013 NABBA/WFF International Championships in Thornbury..Elderly bodybuilder Ray Moon competes in WWF Masters, Melbourne, Australia – 19 May 2013..After two years of semi-retirement 83-year-old body builder Ray Moon is back on top form. With a body the envy of men half his age, Ray recently had to scale back his bodybuilding activities as he battled bladder cancer. However, with his illness behind him he is once again indulging his passion in life. Following his illess, to begin with he was only able to lift 1kg weights in each hand, but, now that he has fully recovered, is back up to 45kg on his lateral pulls. At the recent NABBA International Championships in Melbourne Ray took to the stage in the men’s masters over-35 section. During his life Ray has faced polio, open heart surgery, suffering a cardiac arrest, been pronounced clinically dead and been fitted with a pacemaker. Following all that most people would take it easy. But not Ray. He hit the gym and took up body building in his mid 70s and has never looked back.
