Genetics vs. Hard Work
Athletes with superior genetics progress more rapidly and experience great adaptations to training stimuli than athletes with lesser genetics. But even with great genetics, you need quality hard work and a well-designed training program, under the guidance of a knowledgeable coach to be successful at the professional level.
The current king of bodybuilding the 7-time Mr. Olympia is a genetically gifted bodybuilder who, since winning his first Olympia title in 2011 has gone on to win 7 straight years in a row. But Phil Heath wasn’t always at the top of the heap. Like any other bodybuilder, Phil had to work hard and go through the grind of competing in amateur competitions before becoming a pro. Since then his career has been a truly unbelievable one.
In a recent Q&A video, a fan asked Phil: What is more important to be successful in bodybuilding Genetics or the Hard Work?
