Conor McGregor & Khabib both to face the music for the post-fight fiasco
The UFC 229 main event of Khabib vs Conor was one The Biggest fight in the history of mixed martial arts and it was also an absolutely wild night in the history of UFC as well.
The UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov defeats Conor McGregor but the bad blood between the two did not ended, immediately after his 4th round title defense Khabib Nurmagomedov jumped the fence to attack McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis into the crowd.
Later at the press-conference UFC president, Dana White revealed the possible fines and suspensions are expected for Khabib Nurmagomedov as well as for his teammates that were involved in the melee. White said that UFC is Regulated by The Nevada Athletic Commission and NAC is intended to investigate the brawl and many of the offending parties could be subject to punishment.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s $2 million fight purse also remains withheld by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), and according to NSAC chairman Anthony Marnell, they will also be filing a formal complaint against The Notorious not just against Khabib.
Anthony Marnell Told ESPN:
“We will be filing against Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Because we withheld one purse, we will have to move expeditiously to a complaint and hearing. We have held 100 percent of one of the fighter’s money, so the goal is to get the complaints out in the next 24 to 48 hours.

There are a lot of things here. There are a lot of charges that can be brought against a spectator who came over the barricade, through the commission section, and into the Octagon to strike a fighter three times. For the record, I have a massive problem with that. That can not happen.
Marnell revealed, despite the men who were arrested and then released because of McGregor’s did not press charges, will still be dealt with in a legal matter.
We’re taking a really hard look at that gentleman [that struck McGregor]. We know exactly who he is and where he is. I have to let the attorney general determine — is that trespassing, disturbing the peace? That was a serious action and it deserves a serious consequence.”
Marnell says as far as Khabib is concerned, NSAC would be looking at fining and suspending him for his actions.
“Both. It’s always both. We could do one or the other, but at least in the chair’s mind, I think the commission will be entertaining a recommendation from the attorney general that will include both.
This is a serious issue, this is not a light issue. This isn’t, ‘We smacked each other in the face in a hotel lobby the week of a fight.’ This is the night of the event, and it needs to stay inside that field of combat. There are serious regulations and statutes about what took place, and the consequences have to match the actions.”
NSAC chairman revealed that the disciplinary hearings could go down at the end of November.
