Rich Froning is one of the first legends of CrossFit, as he played a big role in getting the sport mainstream. During his time as an individual competitor, Rich was unstoppable, winning four CrossFit Games titles before moving on to the Teams division. Rich found even more success in the Teams division, as he claimed another six CrossFit Games titles there. In addition to retiring from the Teams division, he is exploring his future options. In any case, Rich is still training hard and has recently revealed his Full Day Of Eating, which enables him to remain energized.

Despite not having revealed a set goal for his CrossFit future, Rich Froning has previously hinted at competing in the Masters’ division of the CrossFit Games. It is not clear if that remained his goal, but judging by how hard he trained in his Full Day Of Eating YouTube video, it is clear that he is ready for a comeback to the biggest stage.

Rich Froning was preparing for the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race at the time of the filming. He took part in that race just a few days later where he competed against other athletes to complete a 100-mile ride across hot weather, massive inclines, and awkward trails. So, he completed essentially one of the hardest Mountain Bike races ever.

Rich Froning’s Full Day Of Eating

Breakfast

Rich Froning starts his day very early, with his first meal being at 7:00 a.m. Although it is nothing large, Rich makes sure to give his body enough proteins, carbs, and fats to properly kickstart and prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. So, he only consumes a protein shake and a bagel with some peanut butter.

  • Bagel With Peanut Butter

Protein: 60 grams
Carbs: 77 grams
Fat: 25 grams

Bike Ride Snacks & Hydration

The day that Rich Froning filmed his Full Day Of Eating video turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far. However, that did not stop him from putting in an incredible shift on the bike, as he rode for 68 miles. To do so, Rich had to bring countless supplies, as the heat and the bike ride consumed his energy at high speeds. So, he frequently drank liquids and ate portions of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

  • PB&J Sandwich
  • 2X Sodium Pack (2,000mg Sodium)
  • 4x Mini Cherry Coke
  • 4x Gel Packs
  • 4x Carb Drink
  • Gatorlyte

Protein: 19 grams
Carbs: 435 grams
Fats: 21 grams

Lunch

Although he was “not even hungry” for lunch, Rich Froning still had to replenish all the calories he burned during his bike ride. So, he sat down to eat some grilled chicken, french fries, and nuggets.

Following his meal, Rich Froning talked about the principles of aerobic training and revealed that there is no real benefit of training more than four hours.

After letting his lunch settle, Rich Froning made his way to the gym at 3:30 p.m. and crushed a pump session. It consisted of strict pull-ups, bench press, lat pull-downs, and more.

  • French Fries
  • Nuggets
  • Powerade

Protein: 61 grams
Carbs: 127 grams
Fat: 43 grams

Dinner

After some more time passed, Rich Froning sat down to eat his dinner. Seeing how he took in many carbs throughout the day, the goal for dinner was to focus on the protein intake. So, he prepared some meat with vegetables and other sides, ate some cereal, and drank a protein shake.
