Cohen explains that the important thing to consider when dieting is the amount of food being consumed rather than the quality but obviously fewer calories and lots of fiber is ideal.
“When it comes to weight loss the most important variable to control is the amount of food you’re putting in your body. “Clean foods” are foods that have a low amount of calories and a high amount of nutrients. Thus, it’s more difficult to rack up calories when you’re only eating stuff that has a ton of volume, fewer calories and lots of fiber” Stefi Cohen writes.
She highlighted that you don’t have to eat a monotonous chicken and rice diet to lose weight.
“Now when it comes to HEALTH- “clean foods” are the better alternative if nutrient density is what you’re after. But let’s not sit here and pretend you have to eat chicken and rice for every meal to lose weight because you don’t. You can have your cake and eat it too if you know what I mean.”
Along with Stefi Cohen, bodybuilding great Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken a keen interest in peoples’ health around the world. In his Arnold’s Pump Club newsletter, he regularly offers guidance on proper nutrition. He recently fired shots at supplement companies for mislabeling their products as well as highlighting imbalances of fish oil, where he mentioned it doesn’t offer enough nutrients to those taking it versus consuming fish twice a week.
