You could hear a pin drop in Goiania, Brazil at the 2024 Musclecontest Goiania as fans gathered to watch bodybuilding action unfold in the Men’s Physique class on September 1. This show was a qualifier for the nearing 2024 Mr. Olympia contest.
It takes a special combination of attributes to stand out among the best on a Pro bodybuilding stage. From aesthetics, shape, and balance, to sheer muscularity, many factors make up the ideal physique, especially in the Men’s Physique division. Currently ruled by reigning champion Ryan Terry from the UK, the category continues to deliver high-octane action, regardless of the bodybuilding contest on deck.
This weekend saw many competitors command the stage with career-best looks. However, the detail and momentum of Emmanuel Costa was impossible to ignore, and the judges took notice. Sporting deep striations and capped delts, he took over the contest quickly. In light of his victory, he’ll have a date with Terry on the horizon. They will meet on the 2024 Mr. Olympia stage which is headed back to Las Vegas, Nevada for its 60th anniversary.
