Colt Wynn, an inspirational bodybuilder who made waves in the Pro Wheelchair division, has died at age 38. His passing was confirmed in a recent Instagram post shared by RxMuscle on August 28, 2024. As of this writing, his cause of death has not been revealed.
In 1999, Wynn fell 14 feet off a hunting stand inside a tree near his house in Fleming, Ohio. The fall left him paralyzed with a broken back. This would mark the beginning of his road to recovery at the hospital. During his stay, he lost 38 pounds but the ordeal exposed him to his passion for lifting weights and bodybuilding, which were parts of his rehabilitation journey.
Having tested himself in powerlifting competitions, Wynn won in the 135-pound weight class by five pounds on the bench press. This would serve as his launching pad into the sport of bodybuilding. Within just three years of his hunting accident that left him paralyzed, Wynn competed at the 2002 NPC Wheelchair Nationals and won first place in the Middleweight division. Then, in 2007, he earned his IFBB Pro card by claiming the IFBB Pro National Overall title.
Aside from his bodybuilding pursuits, Colt Wynn has made notable contributions as a personal trainer and motivational speaker. His story of perseverance and overcoming obstacles has inspired countless athletes who have followed in his footsteps, making his untimely death all the more devastating for those who kept tabs on his career.
