His brother also revealed that Correia had no preexisting health problems and seemed to be in good health before his sudden passing. He shared his gratitude to all the individuals who attempted to save his brother’s life.

“I want to thank the entire team that tried to save his life. They were all very professional and provided all the support.”

While it has yet to be confirmed what caused Silva’s sudden heart attack, many have speculated that it is linked to PEDs. As of late, the fitness and bodybuilding communities have seen an influx in young deaths, including the sudden loss of Panamanian bodybuilder Johanna Perez, who similar to Silva, passed unexpectedly following her 35th birthday.

With the death toll of young bodybuilders continuing to rise, many are calling for a change regarding steroid protocols. Unfortunately, Jose Mateus Correia Silva was among those who lost their lives too soon. We at Fitness Volt extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Jose Mateus Correia Silva during this difficult time.
