Sonita Muluh made a highly anticipated appearance at the 2025 EPF European Classic Powerlifting Championships on March 23rd in Malaga, Spain. She competed in the raw +84-kilogram weight class and put up one of the most spectacular performances in the history of powerlifting. Namely, Sonita is now officially the strongest female powerlifter ever, having achieved new raw Squat and Total All-Time World Records.

Sonita Muluh competes in the IPF, which is a drug-tested federation. However, her recent records exceed those set by athletes in all other federations, including the untested ones. So, considering that she has set the heaviest official raw Total ever, Sonita is indisputably the strongest woman in the history of powerlifting.

Sonita Muluh’s Performance Overview

Sonita Muluh attempted seven lifts at the 2025 EPF European Classic Powerlifting Championships and successfully completed six of them. That was enough to make it her best performance yet, securing her the fourth consecutive title at the show.

Squat

Starting off with the squat, Sonita Muluh made sure to establish early dominance in the division. So, she opened up with 300 kilograms (661.4 pounds), which has become a warm-up weight for her, but an unconquerable challenge for any other female powerlifter. However, Sonita decided to increase the weight up to 318 kilograms (701.1 pounds) to set a new World Record. As expected, Sonita made easy work of the lift and decided to scratch off her final attempt.

It is important to note that Sonita Muluh is officially the first woman in the history of powerlifting to squat over 700 pounds raw. So, it did not take long for her to rewrite history at the 2025 EPF European Championships.

  • 300 kilograms (661.4 pounds)
  • 318 kilograms (701.1 pounds) — +84KG All-Time World Record
  • Did Not Attempt

*Sonita Muluh also held the previous +84KG All-Time Raw Squat World Record of 313-kg (690-lb). She set the record at the 2025 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships.

Bench Press

Moving on to the bench press, Sonita Muluh knew that she had to get a decent lift to keep her dream of breaking the Total World Record. Consequently, her heaviest bench press came on the second attempt when she locked out 152.5 kilograms (336.2 pounds). She also tried to press 155 kilograms (341.7 pounds) on her final attempt but could not achieve it.

  • 145 kilograms (319.7 pounds)
  • 152.5 kilograms (336.2 pounds)
  • Unsuccessful — 155 kilograms (341.7 pounds)

Deadlift

Lastly, Sonita Muluh had to wrap up her performance on the deadlifts. Her goal was to pull 265 kilograms (584.2 pounds), as that would allow her to chip the Total record. So, on her second attempt, Sonita loaded the weight and came out to make history. She achieved the lift with remarkable ease, deciding not to go for her final attempt.

  • 245 kilograms (540.1 pounds)
  • 265 kilograms (584.2 pounds)
  • Did Not Attempt

Total — 735.5 kilograms (1,621.5 pounds) — +84KG All-Time World Record

*Tamara Walcott held the previous +84KG All-Time Raw Total World Record of 735-kg (1,620.4-lb). She set the record at the 2022 WRPF American Pro.

She won 13 contests, which include the 2024 IPF World Championships and 4x EPF European Championships. However, Sonita is constantly displaying progress and is currently one of the most dominant athletes in the sport.
