The 2025 CrossFit Games took place on August 1-3 in Albany, New York, featuring a number of impressive athletes from all around the world. However, Tia-Clair Toomey was the star of the show once again. She came into the competition as the defending champion and a fan favorite. So, everyone had high expectations for Tia-Clair, who ended up proving that she is the Fittest Woman On Earth with her eighth win at the CrossFit Games.
Coming into the 2025 season, no one, including Tia-Clair Toomey, knew for certain if she would appear at the CrossFit Games. Tia-Clair found excitement in Hyrox, setting World Records and qualifying for the World Championships, but also partially pushing her CrossFit journey to the side. So, despite qualifying for the Games through the Torian Pro Semifinal, Tia-Clair took some time to think about the best decision. Then, just a few weeks prior to the start of the competition, she confirmed that she accepted the invite.

Tia-Clair Toomey’s Hyrox training paid off in the early stages of the 2025 CrossFit Games, as she was quicker than all women, and even the majority of men, on the Run/Row/Run event. Her experience was similar in the second event of the competition as well, having secured another win and built up a massive lead very quickly. However, Tia-Clair voided a large part of her lead on the third event, the Climbing Couplet. Her shoes kept slipping on the pegboard, putting more strain than necessary on her upper body. Consequently, she placed 16th, leaving room for other athletes to catch up.

From there on, Tia-Clair Toomey strung together seven consecutive finishes in the top five, proving to be the most consistent performer among all 30 women. So, she continued to increase the point distance between her and the rest of the field on days two and three of the competition. Being the most experienced competitor on the roster, Tia-Clair did not make any major mistakes and cruised toward another title at the CrossFit Games.
Tia-Clair Toomey now has eight CrossFit Games titles, which marks a new record in the individual division. Mat Fraser holds the next best number, having won five titles over the course of his career. When it comes to other female athletes, Annie Thorisdottir and Katrín Davíðsdóttir sit in second with two wins each. This is not surprising considering that Tia-Clair has dominated the sport for the past decade.
