Kyle Kirvay made a name for himself in the sport of bodybuilding, where he reached an impressive level and became an IFBB Pro. However, he then decided to transition to powerlifting, as his strength levels were simply mind-blowing. Well, his journey is clearly going great, since Kyle shared a video on Instagram showcasing one of his most impressive lifts in preparation for the 2025 ABS Rumble 2, which will take place on October 11th in San Diego, California. Specifically, he squatted 425 kilograms (936.9 pounds) for a new Personal Record in training.

Kyle Kirvay is an exceptionally well-rounded athlete, but his leg power seems to be one of his biggest assets. He has posted countless impressive squat performances in the past but has now reached a new all-time high. In order to perform the lift raw, Kyle put on a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and a pair of wrist wraps to ease the pressure on his joints.

Kyle Kirvay picked up the 425-kilogram (936.9-pound) barbell and carried it a few steps back. He then took a deep breath and dropped down in a quick, but controlled, manner. After reaching the desired depth, Kyle immediately started squatting back up. Kyle did slow down significantly at one point of the lift, but it never really seemed that he would fail to reach lockout. So, he set a new Personal Record, showing an improvement of over 16 pounds (7.3 kilograms) compared to his previous one.

“Heaviest squat single before the competition is done. It’s been an amazing prep from tripling 900 to beating my previous PR of 920 lbs.”

With some more time to prepare, Kyle Kirvay will definitely be capable of squatting even more weight. In fact, he has already started considering the possibility of a 1,000-pound (453.6-kilogram) squat. As for when it might happen, Kyle did not reveal the exact timeframe.

“Now the question remains.. WILL 1000 lbs FALL?!” wrote Kyle Kirvay.

Kyle Kirvay has already taken part in three sanctioned powerlifting competitions, with his most recent appearance at the 2024 PLU American Pro 3 being the greatest one so far. Kyle set all of his competition PRs at this event but also achieved a new U140KG All-Time Raw Total World Record. So, despite not spending a lot of time in the sport, Kyle has already etched his name into the history books.

As for his bodybuilding career, Kyle Kirvay became an IFBB Pro after winning the Men’s Open and Classic Physique divisions at the 2018 NPC Universe Championships. He also made an appearance at the prestigious 2020 IFBB Chicago Pro, where he finished in 16th place.

Kyle Kirvay has already faced some setbacks in his journey to become the greatest powerlifter in the world, having managed to overcome a broken leg two years ago. He is now back to his best, as can be seen by his new 425-kilogram (936.9-pound) Raw Squat PR. So, with just a few weeks left to prepare, Kyle will now try to make some final improvements before demonstrating his power on the competition floor.
