As an IFBB pro who transitioned to powerlifting, Kyle Kirvay is a man on a mission to become the strongest powerlifter in the world, which drives and fuels his training sessions. He’s getting pretty close to achieving that goal, as seen in his recent Instagram post that highlighted a new lifetime PR. Specifically, Kyle achieved a 420-kilogram (925.9-pound) deadlift just two weeks out from the 2025 ABS Rumble 2, which will take place on October 11th in San Diego.

Kyle Kirvay has displayed incredible feats of strength on a number of occasions, including all three lifts that make up the core of powerlifting. While it is impossible to say what event suits him best, Kyle’s ability to pull massive weights off the floor is certainly one of his most impressive skills. In his recent training session, Kyle did not use any equipment that would have made his deadlift easier, which includes lifting straps or a lifting belt.

Kyle Kirvay loaded the bar up to 420 kilograms (925.9 pounds) and prepared for his lift. He also utilized a conventional stance and a mixed grip to perform the massive pull. Despite having never deadlifted this amount of weight before, Kyle looked extremely confident, pulling the bar with relative ease and achieving lockout within seconds. As if that wasn’t a testament to his strength, Kyle also performed a so-called ‘freedom hold’, where he held the bar in the locked-out position for a couple of seconds.

Kyle Kirvay has been smashing personal records recently, having also set a squat PR just days before his incredible deadlift. Kyle squatted 425 kilograms (936.9 pounds) and has suggested that his goal might be to squat 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms) in the future. This puts him on course to become arguably the greatest raw powerlifter in the world.

Kyle Kirvay has made appearances in three sanctioned competitions since making his move to powerlifting. He won all three shows, with his most notable victory coming at the 2024 PLU American Pro 3, where Kyle set a new U140KG All-Time Raw Total World Record.

Kyle Kirvay’s bodybuilding career was incredibly impressive as well. His greatest achievement in the sport was securing an IFBB pro card by winning the Men’s Open and Classic Physique divisions at the 2018 NPC Universe Championships. Kyle also appeared in the 2020 IFBB Chicago Pro, finishing in 16th place overall.

With just two weeks left to prepare, Kyle Kirvay will make sure to make final adjustments and get ready for the 2025 ABS Rumble 2. Judging from his statements, Kyle aims to set the Heaviest Raw Total in the history of powerlifting. His journey is definitely something to keep an eye on, as he could become the ultimate powerlifting star in just two weeks’ time.
