Amanda Lawrence’s Full Performance Breakdown
Even before making her appearance at the 2026 SBD Sheffield Powerlifting Championships, Amanda Lawrence showcased her expertise, cutting weight to 83.9 kilograms (185 pounds), just enough to get under the 84-kilogram weight class limit. She then achieved seven successful lifts, resulting in two new World Records.
Squat
Amanda Lawrence put on a show during the squat session, progressively adding weight with each attempt but still making all of them look very smooth. Her final and heaviest attempt came out to 250.5 kilograms (552.3 pounds), which marked a new U84KG IPF World Record. Seeing that she competes in the raw division, Amanda was only allowed to wear a lifting belt and knee sleeves.

Bench Press
The bench press session started off smoothly for Amanda Lawrence, since she made easy work out of her 127.5-kilogram (281.1-pound) opener. However, the second attempt brought with it some problems, as Amanda pressed 135 kilograms (297.6 pounds) but had her lift invalidated based on the technical regulations. Luckily, she managed to successfully bench press the same weight on the final event.

- Unsuccessful — 135 kilograms (297.6 pounds)

Deadlift
Going into the deadlift, Amanda Lawrence knew just how much weight she had to pull in order to exceed the Total World Record. So, she first decided to open a bit lighter with 240 kilograms (529.1 pounds), but then loaded 262.5 kilograms (578.7 pounds) for her second attempt. Lawrence used a sumo stance and a mixed grip to achieve the lift, which resulted in a new Total record.
For her final attempt, Amanda Lawrence decided to add another 10 kilograms (22 pounds) to the barbell, hoping to break the Deadlift World Record as well. She managed to get the bar off the floor and was just inches away from locking it out, but the bar slipped from her hands, resulting in a failed lift.
- 240 kilograms (529.1 pounds)
- 262.5 kilograms (578.7 pounds)
- Unsuccessful — 272.5 kilograms (600.8 pounds)
Total — 648 kilograms (1,428.6 pounds) — U84KG IPF World Record
