2019 CrossFit Games Day 3: Thorisdottir, Sigmundsdottir, Wells, Briggs, and Horvath Eliminated

The 2019 CrossFit Games is shaping up to be quite the event and we’re already on day 3 (Time flies when you’re having fun).

But unfortunately, that means many athletes will be sent home after the standard elimination process, and their dreams of battling for the title of “World’s Fittest” this year are over just like that…

After a brutal sprint event, only a few (10) competitors in the women’s division could make it into the final. But a few really big names were surprisingly eliminated which cut the field in half from 20 athletes down to just 10!

The sprint happened in groups of 5 in a quick down and back format.

The quarterfinal included many competitors but the field was cut down to the following athletes who participated in the semi-final before 5 more were eliminated.

Group 1:

  • Kristin Holte
  • Thuridur Erla Helgadottir
  • Tia-Claire Toomey
  • Carolyne Prevost
  • Danielle Brandon

Group 2:

  • Jamie Greene
  • Haley Adams
  • Katrin Davidsdottir
  • Bethany Shadburne
  • Laura Horvath

The 5 final competitors along with 5 other competitors will move on while Annie Thorisdottir, Sara Sigmundsdottir, Brooke Wells, Sam Briggs, and Laura Horvath saw their last event in the 2019 CrossFit Games

Final 5 by score:

  1. Kristin Holte (26.65)
  2. Carolyne Prevost (27.01)
  3. Tia-Claire Toomey (27.52)
  4. Thuridur Erla Helgadottir (27.65)
  5. Jamie Green (28.03)

The reigning and two-time CrossFit Games champion Tia-Claire Toomey is still in the lead despite having placed third in the sprint. 

Here are the top 10 athletes who still remain in order of their scores so far.
