Ashton Rouska is looking to have a big showing at the upcoming 2020 Arnold Sports Festival. In his last heavy gym session before the event, he amassed a huge total.
Rouska is a Texas-born young powerlifter, who has already created a strong reputation, at just 23 years old. Even from his teenage days, he was accomplishing some incredible things, winning several junior world titles. Moreover, he holds an imposing list of records in Texas RAW powerlifting history. He has proven to be an ultra-talented athlete.
2019 saw Rouska finish up his final years of competing as a collegiate powerlifter, winning the Collegiate Nationals, in the -105kg weight division. Here, he went 8/9 on his lifts, scoring a 1,930lb total lift. Following this, he would conclude the year with three more meets, winning in the Juniors of the RAW Nationals, and showing consistent improvement.
However, Ashton Rouska had a performance reminiscent of his final collegiate efforts, in the gym recently. A video to Instagram shows his final heavy training session, before the upcoming XPC Powerlifting Meet, during the Arnold Sports Festival. Here, he shows a compilation of his best lifts from the day, which include a 805lb deadlift, 425lb bench press, and 700lb squat, for another 1,930lb total.

“Ashton Rouska hits some greater numbers!!! Posted @withregram • @ashh117 Deadlift – 805 lbs

Final heavy session before the Arnold. Felt about 70% recovered today. I’ve given this training prep everything I had, despite painful setback after setback. I must be unbreakable. For everyone that’s supported me along the way, we must be strong. Let’s do the damn thing 🔥🇺🇸”
As he explains in the post, the squat Rouska hit was one of two reps he did. This is impressive to see, considering he had been dealing with sickness and bicep injuries throughout his training for the event. Regardless, he seems to be largely recovered, and ready for action on March 7th.
Here is Rouska hitting the 1,930lb total from last year. Although this time, he did it with a 800lb deadlift, 683.5lb squat, and 446.5lb bench press. As you can see, he has been doing some serious work on his squat and deadlift.
Ashton Rouska may have had a tough road to get to the Arnold Sports Festival. Nevertheless, he looks ready to have a big performance on this massive stage.
