The third annual Rogue Invitational will take place at the Dell Diamond stadium in Round Rock, Texas from 28th to 31st October 2021. In addition to the CrossFit competition, the three-day event will feature the inaugural Strongman competition. Four-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Brian Shaw, 2021 WSM Tom Stoltman are some of the big names participating in the competition.

The 2021 Rogue Invitational will also feature the CrossFit Legends competition where some of the greatest athletes in CrossFit history will compete against each other.

2021 Rogue Invitational Legends Rosters

The CrossFit Legends competition will feature nine of the greatest CrossFit athletes male division and seven of the greatest athletes in the female division. At the time of writing this article, twelve athletes have been confirmed to participate in the competition.

Why is the event called Legends?

The title ‘CrossFit Legends’ refer to the fact that the roster consists of athletes who have had a number of podium finishes throughout their CrossFit career, including eight CrossFit Games titles.

Jason Khalipa

Seven-time CrossFit Games veteran Jason Khalipa won the gold medal at the 2008 CrossFit Games. Khalipa ranked outside of the top seven in his CrossFit career only in 2010. His other achievements include a silver medal in 2013 and a bronze medal in 2014.

Tanya Wagner

Tanya Wagner won the World’s Fittest Woman title in 2009 and finished second in the year 2008.

Rich Froning

One of the greatest CrossFit athletes of all time, Froning won the title of World’s Fittest Man four consecutive times from 2011 to 2014. Froning currently leads the team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom in the teams’ division. The team has won the title in CrossFit Games from 2015 to 2021.(2020 CrossFit Games did not include team event)

Annie Sakamoto

Annie Sakamoto made her CrossFit Masters Games debut in 2016 and won the second spot in the women’s (40-44) division. She won the gold medal in the masters (45-49) division at the 2021 CrossFit Games and finished third in 2017.

Rogue Invitational 2021

Workouts for the CrossFit Legends competition have not been announced yet. At the time of writing this article, the combined prize purse for the 2021 Rogue Invitational stands at $1,423,951. Having won the 2019 CrossFit Legends contest, Jason Khalipa will enter the 2021 Rogue Invitational as the defending champion. Female athletes, however, will compete for the vacant title as 2019 CrossFit Legends winner Samantha Briggs will compete in the Rogue Invitational itself in 2021.
