American actor Alan Ritchson is thinking ahead and focused on preserving his body. In a recent Instagram post shared on June 14, 2025, he flaunted his shredded physique and crushed a workout for hypertrophy and longevity gains.

Ritchson’s claim to fame came courtesy of his role in the action-crime-thriller series Reacher. The show has been widely received and has run for three seasons thus far, with the latest coming in late February 2025.

To maintain his size and conditioning, Ritchson has adopted a strict morning routine. It starts at 4:30 a.m. with fasted training before he hits the acting set. His busy Hollywood schedule keeps him inundated with obligations, so he chooses to train early in the morning for lean muscle mass because he won’t follow through if he saves it for later at night. He also takes runs and uses the stair master as his preferred methods of cardio.

Of course, with someone of Ritchson’s build and stature, conversations about performance-enhancing drugs have come up. The high-profile actor has admitted to using testosterone replacement therapy at 42 years old to help him stay energized and ripped for any projects that might come up.

Having built a strong physique and successful career from the ground up, Ritchson continues to prioritize what matters most in his life: longevity, athleticism, and avoiding injuries. He believes workouts like these allow him to build muscle safely so he can continue doing what he does best.
