The gym he was found at was a 24-hour location. He attended the fitness center the night before, only to be found unconscious after police barged into the quarters to discover his seemingly lifeless body on the ground hours later. His mother, Ms. Pirone, was the first to notice his absence after sharing that he planned to hit the gym before heading to work.

His mother and family tried to contact him and expressed their concerns with close friends about Giuliano Pirone’s absence.

“It was very unusual, completely out of character,” Ms. Pirone said.

After speaking with police, his mother swiftly reported the incident. Authorities worked in tandem with her to figure out where he had gone. They were able to track his precise location by pinging his cell phone, which indicated that he was at the gym. His mother, overwhelmed with fear, described the ordeal.

“The police had to barge in, they found him in the shower (with the cold water running) he was slanted on the floor collapsed,” she said. “They thought he was dead.”

Fortunately, the police responded aggressively to the situation, having administered life-saving CPR on Giuliano Pirone. Their efforts were successful and they quickly got her son to regain his consciousness. What made the incident even tougher was the fact that Pirone was found in the shower lying down with the door locked. His mom confirmed that he ‘smashed his head.’

“The officer who was handling everything, came and picked me and my husband up and took us straight to the hospital, and that’s where I’ve been ever since,” she said.

“He was in there and they had to smash the door down to get him,” she said. “He messaged a friend at 7:03am and wasn’t found until about 10:30pm, I got to the hospital about 12pm. “He was alone, my beautiful son was alone on that floor slanted, collapsed (and had) smashed his head, for about 15 hours and no one noticed anything. I am just dumbfounded.”

His mother believes 24-hour gyms that don’t have personnel are too dangerous and called for changes.

“There should be a check in system, so after two or three hours if they have not checked out staff look around for that person,” she said.

“He would not be in an induced coma until now if someone had seen him within two or four hours,” she said.

“If it wasn’t for the grace of these police officers to ping his phone I wouldn’t still be holding my son’s warm hands.”

Thanks to his loving mother and reliable police officers, Giuliano Pirone was found in the nick of time. There have been several bodybuilders who have died recently, thankfully Pirone isn’t one of them. Of late, IFBB Pros Daniela Schulz and Cintia Goldani passed away in addition to Open bodybuilding standouts Kristoffer Berner, Doug Fruchey, and Kevin Gebhardt.

This ordeal could have ended horrifically, but instead, he’ll live to see another day. We at Fitness Volt hope Giuliano Pirone makes a full recovery and we wish his family strength during this challenging time.
