At only 20 years of age, Brandon Striegel has already shown quite the amount of promise as a powerlifter. He was back at it again recently, when he hit some strong numbers in training.
In most cases, someone like Striegel would not garner a lot of attention. The Indiana resident has only two competitions under his belt, performing as a 110kg lifter. However in that time, he has had some pretty epic showings, both in and out of competition. As such, he has been quickly flagged as someone to keep a close eye on moving forward.
These notions paid off big time, when Brandon Striegel posted to Instagram recently. Here, the 20-year old blasted through an enormous 835lb deadlift. While that is incredible because of the fact that he did so at a bodyweight of 220lb, it was even better as it was a new lifetime personal record for the young athlete.
“835 lb life time PR BW-230 AGE-20
30 lb lifetime PR to finish this block out. @dawsonwindham has coached me since my first 800 pull and put a plan together and I executed it just as I should have. Im fucking so stoked with my progression I honestly have no other words. Last vid is 785lb last warmup”

It is pretty clear to see that this was not an easy lift for Brandon. His knees locked up as he was pulling the weight, and he pulled it rather slowly. Nevertheless he persevered, and scored this massive deadlift, extending his PR by a whopping 30lb!
This massive achievement came just a couple of weeks after his previous bench press PR. Here he is, securing that 805lb pull. It is safe to say this was a far more comfortable lift for him.
This type of rapid growth and improvement is to be expected from someone the age of Brandon Striegel. Regardless, it is still mind blowing to see it happen before our eyes. He is clearly going to be a force to be reckoned with as he gets older, and competes more.
