Talk about a birthday suit! After recognizing that he had overlooked his well-being over the last few months, Lewis committed to making a change to his physical fitness heading into his special day. Now, Flex Lewis is proudly flaunting his improved physique in a recent update he shared on Instagram.

Flex Lewis has established himself as the greatest bodybuilder the 212 division has ever seen. ‘The Welsh Dragon’ won the title for seven consecutive years from 2012 to 2018. His incomparable physique has seen him beat big names like Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford, who both have made the move to the Men’s Open and later became champions.

While Lewis had contemplated a future in competitive bodybuilding, he ultimately decided to call it quits and retire from the sport. The Welsh Dragon would consider returning, but only for a seven-figure check. Even though he has stepped away from the stage, Lewis is still focused on maintaining his incredible conditioning and muscle mass.

Flex Lewis has been pushing his body’s limits in the gym, but a few months ago, he was determined to get into the best shape of his life for his birthday. Turning the big 4-0 prompted Lewis to become ‘bigger, stronger, and faster.’ He kicked off his transformation, though he faced some trouble with a back injury.

Although Flex Lewis has injured his back previously, he revealed this time it was worse than he thought. Regardless, he persevered and with a combination of dieting and hard work, lost 20 pounds just one month from his birthday.

Flex Lewis may be retired, but after seeing the results from the 2022 Mr. Olympia, he said he thinks he could have won the Open title considering he beat both Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan in the 212 division. Nevertheless, Lewis witnessed his rival turned friend achieve the unthinkable when Lunsford became the first two-division champion at the 2023 Mr. Olympia
