Flex Lewis kicks off the challenge to transform his physique on 40th birthday. The 7-time 212 Olympia champion feels that he has neglected fitness far too much over the past few months and wants to transform his body into the best version of itself.
Flex Lewis is the most accomplished competitor in the IFBB Pro League’s 212 division. He won the coveted 212 Olympia trophy seven consecutive times from 2012 to 2018 and set the bar so high that the record may remain untouched for decades to come.
Fans’ interest in watching him compete against the Open division was always high. However, ‘The Irish Dragon’ called it a career while the talks of his potential return to competition were at an all-time high. Lewis now continues to train hard to constantly get stronger and bigger.
However, there is no competitive interest involved, at least for now. He has ventured into several successful businesses after retirement and carved a unique place for himself in the industry which is different from achieving competitive success.
Flex Lewis has been actively involved in the bodybuilding industry through various channels. He has a strong presence on social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube. The 39-year-old routinely collaborates with other celebrated individuals from the industry to create content on a regular basis. He is also a prominent voice of the sport and often analyzes the current affairs in the competitive sphere of the sport. Additionally, Flex Lewis is the owner of the famous Dragon’s Lair gym.
While everything seems to be working perfectly for the former champion, all his ventures seem to have taken a toll on his fitness routine.

Flex Lewis reveals the plan to transform his physique on his 40th birthday
Flex Lewis has been working on the goal to transform his physique on his 40th birthday for a while now. However, he fell off the wagon at some point in time. In a recent Instagram video, Lewis reiterated that it is still the goal for his 40th birthday on November 15, 2023. However, he raised the curtain from some of the recent struggles to focus on health and how it has impacted the journey so far.
The 39-year-old admits that other commitments like family, business ventures and social commitments have occupied an overwhelmingly large part of his time and mental bandwidth. As a result, the former 7-time 212 Olympia champion has spent less than five days in the gym over the last couple of months.
“In fact, I haven’t even stepped foot into the gym. In the last two months probably three times and two of them for YouTube. Shamefully that was my outlet for two decades.”
He added:
“I always eat clean, I always respect the industry and the lifestyle that I live. But having thes half-a**ed workouts with no consistency; I was suffering from an outlet. In all truth, as much as I preach about mental health, I let my own take a back-seat.”
’26 Days’ – the proposed timeline for Flex Lewis’ complete transformation
Now that he has realized the mistake, Lewis has taken it upon himself to challenge the limits and transform the physique into a version of himself that he can be proud of.
“I’ve set myself a challenge; 26 days, I want to become the best version of me.”
Flex Lewis has teamed up with Neel Hill to put together a plan of action to achieve his 40th birthday goal. Diet is an important component of achieving any type of physical transformation. Lewis explained that his new diet will be a lot similar to the one he has been following for years.
“I eat the same sh** over, and over and over again. Four meals a day, very little carbohydrates. As you can see from the starting point, this has only come from cardio. I haven’t missed a single day of cardio in the last several months.”
However, Lewis still thinks that his mental health has taken a serious hit over this time. The Reason? There was no time allotted to give an outlet to his mental turmoil and the demons within!
‘Irish Dragon’ forewarns people that suspect PEDs at play
Unfortunately, PED use is the reality of competitive bodybuilding. But Flex Lewis has always been critical of excessive PED use to boost growth. Realizing that a a section of fitness enthusiasts will probably attribute his transformation to blasting steroids, the 7-time 212 Olympia champion said:
“I lived the life, I had to make the weight cap and I never went the excessive route… And that’s one of the reasons why I have been able to hold on to the muscle as I have done for all these years.”
He added:
“So, spare me the f* excuse. I’ll save my money in the pocket while you guys moan around in the comments section about what I’m doing and what I’m not doing. But ultimately, I know what I am doing and it’s just being consistent with my TRT. That’s the f* key.”
Lewis confessed once more that it was a major mistake to not prioritize fitness and added:
“I’m teaching myself not to go back into all these mental deep holes that I’ve put myself in… That I preach not to be in.”
Flex Lewis is one of the most committed individuals to ever set their foot on the Olympia stage. It is impossible to become a 7-time Olympia champion without discipline. This same virtue will help Lewis achieve the goal to transform the physique once again.
