Hafthor Bjornsson has performed many feats of strength over the course of his career in Strongman. Although he is a man talented and exceptional in multiple movements, his deadlifts are undoubtedly his greatest asset. Hafthor has been training diligently and meticulously in preparation for the 2025 Arnold Strongman Classic, which is set to take place on February 28 – March 01. In turn, Bjornsson recently achieved a mind-blowing 460-kilogram (1,014.1-pound) deadlift during one of his workouts.

By now it is well known that Hafthor Bjornsson has a desire of breaking the all-time deadlift world record and that he is actively preparing for it. In turn, he used a deadlift suit, lifting belt, and lifting straps for his 460-kilogram (1,014.1-pound) deadlift. Hafthor will be able to use the same equipment when the time comes for his world record attempt to take place.

Hafthor Bjornsson took some time to mentally prepare for the 460-kilogram (1,014.1-pound) deadlift. However, once he decided to commence the lift, he made it look easy. Hafthor pointed out that he struggled to get his hips low enough, showing that there is more room to improve. On the other hand, his consistent speed throughout the lift shows that he could lift even more weight on a good day.

It is clear that Hafthor Bjornsson is extremely motivated to deadlift 505 kilograms (1,113.3 pounds) for a new World Record. The reason for this is mainly the fact that some people have been disputing his iconic 501-kilogram (1,104.5-pound) pull. Consequently, he now wants to solidify his legacy as the greatest deadlifter in history by setting the record in an in-person competition.

Hafthor Bjornsson is proving to be a great addition to the elite Strongman scene, continuing to add to his impressive resume. Most notably, Hafthor is a 2018 World’s Strongest Man champion, 5x Europe’s Strongest Man, 3x Arnold Strongman Classic champion and overall one of the strongest people to have ever walked the earth.

It is unclear when exactly Hafthor Bjornsson plans to make his World Record attempt. However, when the time comes, he will likely be joined by a couple of other elite Strongmen, including Mitchell Hooper who has also expressed his interest in the record. Hafthor does look like the biggest favorite for the record, having dominated multiple deadlift events in 2024.
