The 2026 Enhanced Games are based on the concept that athletes are allowed to improve their performance with substances that would usually be prohibited in the majority of mainstream sports. In doing so, the athletes are able to reach new heights and push the limits of what is humanly possible.
As far as Strongman goes, the invite was sent to two of the most prominent figures in the community. Hafthor Bjornsson is the current World Record holder with 510 kilograms (1,124.4 pounds), while Mitchell Hooper is the reigning World’s Strongest Man. As such, they are the perfect candidates to further improve the deadlift record.
Hafthor Bjornsson was the first to announce his appearance at the 2026 Enhanced Games, and he decided to completely clear his schedule, including withdrawing from the 2026 Arnold Strongman Classic. Being fully dedicated to the goal, Hafthor has set his sights on the 515-kilogram (1,135.4-pounds) deadlift.
On the other hand, Mitchell Hooper has never locked out half a ton or more on the deadlift but has been pretty close to it in the past while focusing on other goals as well. Hooper is coming off wins at the Arnold Strongman Classic and World’s Strongest Man, proving he is currently in incredible shape.
If Bjornsson or Hooper manage to break the Deadlift World Record, they will receive $250,000 in prize money for their achievement. Moreover, their lift will go down as one of the greatest achievements in history.

Furthermore, their rivalry will undoubtedly fuel the deadlift attempts, as both look to deliver their best possible performance in order to set a new record and claim the bragging rights.
