Hunter Labrada has ended his off-season and will now prepare for his next bodybuilding contest. In a recent YouTube video, Labrada revealed that he will compete at the 2024 ProMuscle Italy Pro on September 8 in pursuit of his Mr. Olympia qualification.

Following the legendary path set by his father, Lee Labrada, Hunter Labrada has been steadily climbing the Men’s Open ranks. Just last year, Labrada established himself as a dominant competitor after securing a first-place finish at the 2023 Tampa Pro. From there, Hunter Labrada was determined to test his mettle against the sport’s best and competed at the Texas Pro, where he placed second to Andrew Jacked

When it came time to take the stage at the 2023 Mr. Olympia, Hunter Labrada brought his best physique to date and earned himself an impressive sixth-place finish. As Labrada headed into the off-season, he maintained a busy schedule while keeping his fans in the loop.

In a recent YouTube video, Hunter Labrada finally divulged that he intends to compete at the 2024 ProMuscle Italy Pro in September, hoping to claim his ticket to the Mr. Olympia stage.

“It’s definitely time to tell you all what I’m doing this year. I wanted to be the one to share it with you all, I haven’t seen it too much anywhere yet and where I have seen it, it might have been a little incorrect. So, here we are. This year, I’m going to go compete in Italy, the Italy Pro on September 8” Labrada shared.

Hunter Labrada went into detail about his plans for the 2024 bodybuilding season. He revealed that he wants to compete somewhere new this year and is excited to go overseas for the first time.

“Let me tell you why. I wanted something later in the season. That was the first caveat. I’ve done Tampa twice already. I’ve won Tampa twice already. I didn’t want to do Tampa again. I’ve never been overseas. I’ve never competed overseas. It’s something that truly excites me and it’s something that’s got me fired up. So, that’s the main reason that I want to go compete over there.”

Labrada will be immediately starting a 16-week prep for his competition in September which is only four weeks out from the Mr. Olympia. His reasoning for this is that he will have a short prep and will be able to use the momentum to set him up in the following year (which could mean entering his first Arnold Classic).

“Starting 16 weeks out which will actually be this following Saturday, don’t know when you will all be watching this. I get started this Saturday that’s 16 weeks out. The Olympia is 20 weeks from that Saturday. The first show is 16 weeks from that Saturday, the Olympia is 20, really short prep, and that will set me up nicely for next year, maybe do the Arnold, who knows.”

In regards to his rivalry with Andrew Jacked, Hunter Labrada made it clear he isn’t avoiding him and hopes to see him on the Mr. Olympia stage.

“I know some people will probably say I’m trying to dodge Andrew, so head this one on head up, I hope he wins Texas and I’ll see him at the one that really matters, at the Olympia.”

“He knows I’m training to beat him and I know he’s training to beat me. So that will be a good one at the Olympia,” shares Hunter Labrada. “Yup Italy, you all will see me in September.”

While Hunter Labrada continues to eye his obligations for the 2024 bodybuilding season, he has previously expressed interest in competing at the 2025 Arnold Classic. During this year’s Arnold Classic, Arnold Schwarzenegger announced he would be increasing the prize money for the Men’s Open to $500,000, which obviously piqued the interest of many athletes, including Labrada.

For now, Hunter Labrada is focused on winning the 2024 ProMuscle Italy Pro. With several weeks to go, fans look forward to the improvements Labrada will undoubtedly make before taking to the stage again. If he can secure the win in Italy, Labrada will face off against the best Men’s Open athletes this October in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the 60th anniversary of Mr. Olympia.
