The sport of Strongman is clearly becoming more mainstream, as athletes are now starting to garner interest in it at a very young age. One of the most notable young Strongman prospects at the moment is Bubba Pritchett, the 13-year-old son of 2017 America’s Strongest Man, Jerry Pritchett. Bubba is already stronger than the majority of grown people, as seen by the training lifts he posts on Instagram. Notably, Bubba recently shared a mind-blowing 250-pound (113.4-kilogram) Log Overhead Press.

Building shoulder and upper body strength is a process that takes a lot of time, but Bubba Pritchett has already mastered the challenge at a very young age. Moreover, the young athlete has already reached a milestone that many chase throughout their entire career, locking out 250 pounds (113.4 kilograms) over his head. Not only that, but Bubba did it with a Log implement, which is notorious for being even more difficult because of its size.

Bubba Pritchett used the standard Strongman equipment to perform the Log Lift, including a pair of knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, and wrist wraps. He first picked up the log from the floor and cleaned it up to his shoulders, which definitely added another level of difficulty to the lift. The ease with which he performed the lift and the technique that he maintained throughout the movement definitely show that Bubba has the potential to grow into one of the strongest men on earth.

Bubba Pritchett definitely has the genetics to become a Strongman, seeing that his father, Jerry Pritchett, was one of the greatest athletes of his time, renowned for his deadlift prowess. He was one of the best deadlifters of his time and one of the first people to lock out 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms). Moreover, Jerry was a 6x WSM competitor, making it to the finals on multiple occasions and even finishing in fourth place at the 2020 World’s Strongest Man competition. Jerry is now occasionally seen in the commentary position for certain Strongman competitions.

Jerry and Bubba Pritchett are clearly working very closely together, as the young man shares the same strengths as his father. Bubba’s power on the deadlift is incredible, as seen by the fact that he locked out 500 pounds (226.8 kilograms) at just 13-years-old. His grip strength is also very impressive, meaning that he has the potential to excel in a lot of Strongman events, such as the Farmer’s Carry.

Bubba Pritchett has already taken part in a few competitions, but it is important to note that he often competes against significantly older athletes. His most recent appearance came at the 2024 America’s Strongest Teen competition, where he finished in fourth place overall. He was by far the youngest athlete in the field, as the others were 16 and 17-years-old.

Judging from his Instagram caption, Bubba Pritchett has multiple goals in life. Firstly, he wants to become the World’s Strongest Man at some point. On the other hand, he also appears to have desires of pursuing a career in acting and WWE wrestling. Seeing what he has already achieved, there is no limit to what Bubba could do in the future, especially in regard to his Strongman goals.
