John Haack continued to solidify his status as the G.O.A.T. with a mind-blowing 420-kilogram (925.9-pound) raw deadlift PR. He performed the pull during a recent session and shared a video to Instagram on March 18th, leaving dozens of thousands of people in shock. It took Haack over one year to improve on his former PR, so months of hard work have finally paid off for him.
John Haack competes exclusively in the raw division, and for that reason, he rarely uses any additional equipment in training. So, when the time came for him to attempt a 420-kilogram (925.9-pound) deadlift, Haack only put on his lifting belt and grabbed some chalk. Moreover, he set up a conventional stance and grabbed the barbell with a mixed grip, just like he would in a sanctioned competition.
John Haack wasted no time in preparation, but instead started pulling as soon as he grabbed it. All of his muscles and veins popped out immediately, displaying his muscular physique in all its glory. After some light shaking, Haack managed to lock out the 420-kilogram (925.9-pound) deadlift, leaving a statement in the caption indicating that he was capable of pulling even more weight.
“Should have loaded the 8th red.”

Just days before he set the 420-kilogram (925.9-pound) raw deadlift PR, John Haack wrote in one of his posts that he is three weeks out from his next competition. That, along with some other posts, indicate that John will compete at the 2024 WRPF Ghost Clash 3, which is set to take place on April 6-7 in Miami, Florida. He also competed in last year’s edition of the show and won it overall.
It is not clear in which weight class John Haack plans to compete, as he has switched between the U90KG and U100KG in the past. He holds All-Time World Records in both of them, and is clearly ready to push them even further. Apart from his deadlift, John has shared videos of some other lifts as well recently. One that is notable is his bench press, as he is often lifting close to 600 pounds.
John Haack has spent ten full years as a powerlifting athlete, during which he managed to become arguably the best powerlifter in history. He has conquered multiple divisions in both drug-tested and untested competitions, rarely finishing anywhere below first place. In fact, he made 28 appearances in sanctioned powerlifting competitions and won 24 of them.

John Haack’s recent 420-kilogram (925.9-pound) deadlift was easily over 4x his bodyweight, which is quite a prestigious achievement. Moreover, Haack is getting closer to the incredible milestone of 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms), which is looking like a realistic outcome with some more training. Hopefully his newfound improvements will be manifested in the 2024 WRPF Ghost Clash 3, as that would likely mean that some World Records could fall.
