Jonathan Cayco is undoubtedly one of the greatest pound-for-pound powerlifters in the world, which he continues to prove with almost every training session. He mainly dominates the bench press event, which earned him the nickname “Mr.Bench”, however, this year, Cayco has been working on improving his deadlifts. This has produced incredible results, as Jonathan just shared his newest achievement to Instagram, a 331.5-kilogram (730.8-pound) deadlift two-rep PR (Personal Record).

Jonathan Cayco’s technique during the lift was impeccable, as he used a conventional stance and a mixed grip to ensure stability and proper form.

In addition to his impressive strength and technique, Cayco’s deadlift was also raw by powerlifting regulations. This means that he did not use any specialized equipment or assistance during the lift, such as knee wraps or a bench shirt. Instead, he relied solely on his own strength, skill, and a lifting belt to achieve a new PR.

Jonathan Cayco’s Instagram caption, “Didn’t feel super strong today so this is a win!” highlights the mindset and determination that has allowed him to become a successful powerlifter. Rather than focusing on his limitations or setbacks, Cayco chooses to focus on the progress he has made and the victories he has achieved.

Jonathan Cayco has been a different beast ever since he failed to win the 2022 IPF Classic Powerlifting World Championships. As the reigning champion from 2021, Cayco was undoubtedly disappointed to come up short in the competition, especially since he had worked so hard to prepare for it. However, judging by his deadlift improvement, Jonathan will be aiming for first place once again next year.

Despite missing out on the World Champion title, Jonathan Cayco did manage to secure his third American National Title this year, which was a great addition to his already accomplished career. Overall, Cayco took part in 14 sanctioned powerlifting competitions during the course of his 7-year-long career and won nine of them.

Jonathan Cayco’s recent 331.5-kilogram (730.8-pound) deadlift PR is even more impressive considering that he has been ill at the start of December. However, his recovery went well and he was able to push his boundaries. Although there’s no word yet on when he’ll compete, one thing’s for sure, Cayco will put up a show.
