Last year, the ‘new’ king of the bench press Julius Maddox completed a 740lb bench press to set the all-time raw world record surpassing Kirill Sarychev’s 335kg (738.5 lbs) which was a historical feat for sure. But then he took it a step further and achieved a 337kg/744.1lb bench press (with ease mind you) to extend on his number.
Well… if you thought he was done for a while then you are so wrong. Maddox took to the flat bench very recently and absolutely plowed through 342kg/755lbs and you won’t believe it but it looked like he could have even added a few more pounds on top of that… Ridiculous!

… And boy, is he right.
This new pr would probably put Maddox in the category of otherworldy and it seems the sky is the limit if he keeps going like this. And next up… 800 pounds! That’s right, Julius Maddox is not stopping now and has already told the world he’s coming for a monstrous 363kg/800lbs which would put him in another dimension because he sure won’t belong here on Earth with all the rest of us mere mortals.
Of course, he knows that a high 700 number will have to take place first as he works up to it and we don’t see why we won’t be able to make steady progress at this rate.
If you’d like to see his world record 744lb bench press from November of last year, then you can watch it below…
There’s really nothing else to say at this point as his super strength speaks for itself. We do believe Julius Maddox will continue to progress throughout the year and an 800lb bench press attempt could definitely happen in 2020.
But… do you think he can do it or does 2021 seem more likely for him to accomplish this astronomical feat? Or, do you think he’ll ever be able to bench press 800 pounds?
