Kara Saunders is one of the most successful CrossFit athletes in the world. She has consistently finished in the top 10 at the CrossFit Games since 2015, with the only exception being the 2021 edition. However, the news of her second pregnancy has forced her to take a break from the sport, which has come as a surprise to her fans and fellow athletes.

Kara Saunders announced her second pregnancy on YouTube, sharing the news with her fans and followers. She expressed her excitement about the baby’s arrival, but also acknowledged that this pregnancy has been more challenging than her first. In the initial stages of her pregnancy, Kara experienced some difficulties that forced her to take a break from training and competition. She has not been very active on social media since then, as she had more important things to take care of.

“I have been a little bit distant and a little bit vague on my social media… it’s just that our family needed a little bit of privacy while we were in the middle of processing.”

For elite athletes like Kara Saunders, taking a break from training and competition can be difficult both mentally and physically. CrossFit requires a lot of physical strength and endurance, and athletes have to be in peak condition to compete at the highest level. However, Kara has taken this setback in her stride and has remained positive throughout. She has focused on her health and the health of her baby, and has been taking things one day at a time.

“The recommendation for training, they (doctors) really still don’t know. But we have seen that the issues that I was experiencing look like they’re all but resolved and not presenting as an issue. I will still treat myself moving forward through this a little bit more with care.”

In Kara’s second pregnancy, she and her partner have learned many valuable lessons, and they are grateful for everything that has come with it. So, her positive attitude and willingness to embrace the challenges of pregnancy will definitely reflect on her future adventures as well.

“This baby from day one has been the pregnancy and the human to teach me patience. Everything has been a wait and learning how to manage being out of control. I definitely can roll with things a little bit better, even when it is frustrating.”

Kara Saunders has taken part in 10 CrossFit Games, with her best placement coming in 2017, when she was a runner-up. Therefore, she is one of the most experienced athletes in the world at the moment. Kara has also accumulated a lot of success throughout the other stages of the CrossFit season, finishing in the top three of CrossFit Opens, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals, on a total of eight times.

Hopefully, Kara Saunders’ pregnancy will be without problems going forward, and that she will be able to resume CrossFit as soon as possible. She has always been one of the most persistent and consistent athletes on the field, so her absence will definitely be visible.
