When it comes to highly skilled progress, Kevin Oak is about as good as they come. He reminded us of this fact in a big way recently, with a rather impressive bench set.

There is not a lot in this sport that Kevin does not seem capable of doing easily. At every juncture, the 33-year has excelled in nearly all aspects of the sport. This has led to his earning multiple championships and setting some seemingly impossible bench marks along, making him someone who is always exciting to watch.

Well just in case you were beginning to forget how powerful Kevin Oak is, he decided to remind you. He took to Instagram recently with a wild paused bench press set that left us all blown away by his skills. He did this by going five reps of an impressive 425lb paused bench.

“425×5 paused, ignore my legs they usually don’t work correctly until meet day.”

By no means was this an easy lift for Kevin to hit, but be did it anyway, knocking out each rep. Five reps on something like this would be difficult for any person to do. However he managed to go the extra mile by holding those reps, so he can get the most pump possible.

It has been more than just the bench that Oak has been working recently. Here he is, doing some deadlift work a few days earlier. The 110kg lifter managed to pull a solid 745lb, all the while making it look like a warm up rep.

Over the last few months, it really seems that Kevin Oak has hit his stride. He seems to be taking his lifts to the next level, landing some increasingly big numbers. It will be curious to see if this is able to translate to some wins at powerlifting meets, once he is finally able to compete again.
