Kevin Oak is an extremely talented athlete and powerlifter. He reminded us how gifted he is, with a recent video crushing a massive deadlift triple.
Oak started off as a track athlete, but subsequently turned to powerlifting, when he found a passion for it. Since then however, he has not looked back, and continues to get more and more powerful. Fans who have been keeping an eye on this competitor have realized just how incredibly athletic and strong he is. Furthermore, there was once a time where he was thought of in the same leagues as the phenom Larry Wheels.
Currently, Oak is preparing for the Hybrid Showdown II Powerlifting Meet. The event, which goes down February 1st and 2nd, in Miami, Florida, will see Oak compete in the 242lb weight division. In order to get ready for the contest, he has been hitting the gym extra hard.
In a recent video, uploaded to Instagram, you can see just how much work Oak has been putting in. In the post, he can been seen hitting a crazy 800lb (363kg) deadlift. Moreover, he does so for three reps, which he explains is a new record for him. All the while, the look on his face makes it seem as if he is just warming up.

“800 lbs x 3 for a new 3 rep max. 8 weeks out.”
This is quite an impressive lift from Oak. It is worth noting the fact that he did this, without using any knee wraps. This is important because he has stated that he has aspirations to get a 1,000kg total lift, without wraps. As a result, he would be the youngest athlete to do so, if he can accomplish this goal in February.
There can be little doubt about how talented Kevin Oak is. If he continues on this path, a 1,000kg total seems like not a far reach.
