At 27 years of age, Kheycie Romero is reaching some new heights in powerlifting. This was evident when she secured a new personal record in a recent training session.
Over the last few years, Romero has been steadily improving and getting better. Competing in the 90kg most recently, she has grown over the course of her career. However each step of the way saw her finding new levels of success, leading to her winning the Hybrid Showdown earlier this year. However since that show, she has hit unofficial world records, with the deadlift world record in mind for her next competition.
In the efforts to reach this incredible goal, Kheycie Romero has been doing a ton of training recently. Not only has she been working in the gym, but she has been making big improvements. This was clearly the case when she took to Instagram recently, hitting a huge 617lb deadlift for a new PR.

Finally switched to red plates. It’s been a weird mental block for me. But I switched and PR’d so I guess we good now. 🤘🏼

Not only was this deadlift PR impressive, but Romero followed it up with a solid six reps of 540lb. This type of repetition work will be sure to help her build her strength to reach 650. That seems to be a big part of her training strategy, as she was seen pulling a whopping eight reps of 573lb just a few days earlier. Only this set did not come nearly as easily for Kheycie.

With the world record in her sights, it seems Kheycie Romero will be unstoppable. She has been steadily improving, and whether it is raw or with wraps, she is going to be putting up some impressive numbers. This just goes to show how talented of an athlete this young lady is.
