There are very few things that fitness influencer Larry Wheels hasn’t done and now we can cross off competitive slap fighting. In a recent YouTube video, Wheels was knocked out by super heavyweight Power Slap champion Layne Viernes as he contemplates joining the sport.
“I think there is no just in case, I think it’s 100 percent I’m going to get knocked out. This guy is like 400 pounds and he’s the champion of the super heavyweights. I told him don’t hold back. So, when I get knocked out, hopefully, Ryan and some other guys can help me not hit my head on the floor.”
One discipline at a time, Larry Wheels is proving there is nothing he can’t do. From powerlifting to bodybuilding and even arm wrestling, he continues to look for the next sport to conquer. Wheels has now found a new venture in competitive slap fighting, more specifically, Power Slap.
Power Slap was created by UFC CEO Dana White. As slap fighting has grown, many MMA fighters have switched from the octagon to the table, including UFC strawweight and flyweight athlete Paige VanZant. To win, two athletes try their hand at getting in the hardest hit. Using only an open-handed strike, competitors are scored on the damage caused by the strike and the response of the defender (the opponent taking the hit).

Larry Wheels Floored After Power Slap Super Heavyweight Champion Knocks Him Out
Slap fighting has quickly gained popularity so it is no surprise that it attracted the attention of fitness influencer Larry Wheels. In a YouTube video, Wheels shared his knockout moment after being leveled by Power Slap champion Layne Viernes.
During the video, Larry Wheels received guidance on how to slap like a Pro. He took part in a resistance band warm-up for his joints alongside Layne Viernes. They also practiced some shadowboxing slaps. Before getting knocked out, Larry Wheels attempted his own slap, which the champion ate without issue.
After taking the hit, Larry Wheels proudly exclaimed that he still had all his teeth following that insane slap.
“Got all my teeth still too” Larry said.
Layne Viernes was impressed with how Wheels handled the slap and made sure to give him praise.
“It’s been a fucking honor, Larry. Thank you, bro. You’re good bro, you’re good.”
Wheels was surprised he wasn’t completely knocked out but still knew he’d be feeling the effects of the slap later on.
“Super heavyweight champion just slapped the shit out of me. How I’m still awake is beyond me. I’m going to have a headache after this.”
While slap fighting seems to be all fun and games for Larry Wheels, more serious matters have come up regarding the influencer. Recently, Wheels revealed that he ‘relapsed’ on steroids and shared that he felt bodybuilding was a big mistake.
“Last year, I made a video saying I stopped steroids. And I have as of three months ago, relapsed and gone back on a full steroid cycle.”
“I have faced several challenges with my company PR that led me to go into panic mode and make a decision to pursue bodybuilding in an attempt to bring more eyeballs to what I’m doing and in turn help my brand get back to where it was and even better.”“Now, that was a massive mistake. That’s not what I should have done to build my brand.”
Even though he’s not eying a powerlifting contest, Wheels’ strength is always on display. Previously, Wheels crushed a 405-pound bench press for 32 reps, which was a new personal record. Additionally, Larry Wheels also hit a PR on the seated dumbbell shoulder press, completing four reps of 400 pounds total.
While it seems Larry Wheels might have some soul-searching to do concerning his athletic future, slap fighting might be the jolt he needs to get back on track. Whether Wheels decides to pursue an opportunity in the sport or not, fans will have to wait and see.
