“270lb muscle ups. Calisthenics is fun!”
Larry Wheels shared.
Larry Wheels seemed to be a shoo-in for the bodybuilding world after earning a second-place finish at the 2023 Amateur Olympia. His performance left IFBB judge Terrick El Guindy impressed and even believing that he would ‘shock the world.’ However, Wheels was realistic about his expectations from the sport understanding it would be far-fetched to ever win Mr. Olympia.
“Now, to say I want to be Mr. Olympia after I spent 10 years being a powerlifter… it would be like mission impossible. Not only that, but I wouldn’t be able to commit for as long as it would take to even have a chance at placing top three or top five or first call-out on the Olympia stage to where I’m at now.”
“To damn near drop everything to do that, it’s not going to happen. I set realistic expectations for myself, and I ask those that watch and listen to do the same. Right?”
Wheels has since then come clean about his relapse with steroids, which prompted his decision to no longer compete in bodybuilding. Larry Wheels made it clear that he is focused on being healthier and revealed that while he is on a full cycle of PEDs, it changes who he is, compromising his integrity as a businessman and husband.
Larry Wheels has grown immensely within the fitness community and fans can admire all that he has accomplished. When it comes to his incredible physical abilities in the gym, Wheels’ flawless execution of muscle-ups further emphasizes what he is capable of.
