Larry Wheels’ strength hasn’t gone anywhere since he decided to step away from bodybuilding. In his latest effort, shared via YouTube on August 30, 2024, he showed off his new PR on a sumo deadlift, which amounted to an impressive 765 pounds.
Larry Wheels has proven he is a multifaceted athlete showcasing skills in several sports, including powerlifting, arm-wrestling, and bodybuilding. He even tried his hand (no pun intended) at Power Slap, finding himself nearly unconscious after taking a hit from the Super Heavyweight champion Layne Viernes.
Larry Wheels Sets New PR After Demolishing 765-Pound Sumo Deadlift
Most of the time, though, Larry Wheels is hard at work in the gym, constantly breaking his own personal records. In the last several months, Wheels has been on a roll, hitting a new PR with a 400-pound seated dumbbell shoulder press for 4 reps, a 405-pound bench press for 32 reps, and as of recently, a 765-pound sumo deadlift, which he shared with fans in his latest YouTube video.
“I definitely got a connection with sumo that I never had before and that’s why I was able to do such a massive PR for sumos despite never having trained for sumo.”

Wheels explains how correcting his form and speed helped him achieve heavier lifts he hadn’t been able to execute in the past.
“It just takes repetition to get comfortable and use more speed because when I tried to go explosive like you, I didn’t have all that practice under my belt so I lost control very quickly and almost fall backwards but then I slowed it down just fast enough where I feel like I’m in total control and I don’t have the advantage of having that ‘pop’ but it still was better than doing it from a static.”
Wheels also took to Instagram to boast about his incredible new sumo deadlift PR.
“So I just pulled 765 for an all-time sumo PR” Wheels said.
Larry Wheels isn’t a stranger to deadlifts of any kind. Just a few months back, Wheels’ omnipotence was on full display after completing a 675-pound one-arm deadlift. As he continues to rack up more impressive feats of strength, he is slowly transforming himself into a real-life Hercules.
Larry Wheels made it crystal clear that he never intends to get back to bodybuilding after regretfully relapsing on steroids, so he remains dedicated to his fitness. Fans can look forward to watching Wheels defy the limits through various types of lifts because, at this point, the sky is the limit when it comes to his strength.
