Brian Johnson, well known as Liver King, has seen better days. In a recent Instagram post shared on December 10, 2024, he opened up about his ‘major health scare,’ which included losing 25 pounds, a torn meniscus, a mass in his colon, and a twisted kidney.

Liver King became an internet sensation in 2021, boasting an insanely shredded physique — all while claiming to be natural. But how did he build such an impressive body? He claimed it was because of his ancestral lifestyle and the nine tenets he lived by, until Derek of More Plates More Dates exposed his steroid cycle in a leaked email

After fans found out he was taking over $10,000 worth of growth hormone a month, Liver King had to come clean. While he admitted to using performance enhancements, he misled his followers. This resulted in a handful of lawsuits filed against himself and his supplement companies. Johnson briefly cleaned up his act and appeared to quit all steroids, only to pick them back up later.

Health challenges have plagued Liver King for months. Previously, he shared concerns of a ‘brain bleed,’ and showed off his permanently damaged eye. Now, he’s back, informing the public about his latest struggles.

Liver King detailed his ‘major health scare,’ revealing that matters were even more complicated after tearing his left meniscus.

“I had a major health scare y’all,” says Liver King. “Long story short, I stopped lifting loads, started using bands. Starting hopping like this a whole bunch, so much so, I started doing one-legged sprints up the driveway.

Pretty good at it. And what ends up happening is I tear the left meniscus on Friday. A recovering junkyard I am at the time.”

A host of health issues have kept him less than 100 percent, including anemia, a crashed thyroid, a mass in his colon, a twisted kidney as well as a ‘necrotic fold and a large fatty liver.’ As a result, he’s lost 25 pounds.

“Been feeling like shit, “losing lightning” since Mid October. Turns out I created a perfect storm: anemic af, crashed Thyroid (so clever I am), gut mortality, and general subprimal energy. Decided to fast a bit more here n there. Lost 25 lbs (shredded, bros👊”

• mass in colon
• twisted kidney
• necrotic fold
• large “fatty” liver
• eat a bag of Dino d*ck, f**k off!

To combat these problems, Liver King has received gut massages twice a week, daily IVs, and utilized a few other recovery methods.

“Biweekly gut massages, daily IVs, hyperbaric o2, fasting, praying, breathing, red lights, goldenlites, walking/in place jumping, midday sunning n sleep cave dreaming… dropping into my Queen’s divine (the infinite wisdom n healing of the soul/mate),” he shared

It’s plausible that Liver King’s use of steroids is the reason for many of these health concerns, though it could also just be bad luck. Nevertheless, he’ll have to take significant measures moving forward to preserve his well-being and longevity.
