The weather is heating up and so is Mark Wahlberg’s summer workouts. In a recent Instagram post, Mark Wahlberg raised the bar and took his leg day workout to the next level after completing barbell lunges uphill. In addition, he showed off his huge quads.
While most people know Mark Wahlberg for his incredible acting, the fitness community knows him for his unwavering dedication to health and wellness. The 53-year-old maintains his mesmerizing physique with strict dieting, intense workouts, and even cold plunges for muscle recovery.
Even though that may seem within the bounds of reason, Mark Wahlberg always takes it one step further. When it comes to training, Wahlberg often gets started at four in the morning and, until recently, used to work out seven days a week. It wasn’t until after he suffered multiple injuries that he finally decided to shift his focus to rest and recovery.

That being said, Mark Wahlberg still knows how to get in a killer workout. In a recent Instagram post, Wahlberg shared a video of himself doing lunges. These weren’t just any lunges though. Instead, he was taking on barbell lunges uphill, demonstrating his impressive lower-body strength and endurance.

Throughout the video, fans can hear Wahlberg talking aloud to encourage himself.
“Up the hill. Up the hill. Up the hill. Up the hill. All the way up” Wahlberg chants.
In addition to his already insane barbell lunges, Mark Wahlberg also flaunts his massive quads as a testament to the quality of his leg day workouts.
“Stubborn motherfuckers, I’ve grown.”
Mark Wahlberg is known for his brutal leg day workouts. In the past, he smashed an intense training session for his legs while pushing through the pain of his injuries. Despite his three herniated disks, two torn menisci, and broken bones in his hands, he still insisted on ‘getting that movement.’
However, Wahlberg’s discipline doesn’t end in the gym. He continues his strict regimen throughout the day with his diet. Having given fans a glimpse at a full day of eating previously, Wahlberg revealed that he tries to eat as clean as possible. If he does have a cheat day, he prefers to do it up the right way.
“As long as I do the cheat meal right this time because what I’m thinking about is okay, I have to have either some tequila and I’ll have chocolate, and I’ll have some other dessert and you know, five different kinds of pasta. After not having anything, and eating clean and I wonder why I don’t feel good the next day.”
Mark Wahlberg remains consistent with his workouts and diet to maintain not only his good looks but also his health and well-being. When training, Wahlberg never takes the easy way out, especially when it comes to leg day. Will you be giving Mark Wahlberg’s uphill barbell lunges a try?
