Although he is probably not represented adequately in the powerlifting community, there is no doubt that Jaisyn Mike is one of the greatest athletes that ever stepped foot on the platform. This statement is easily backed by a quick glance at Jaisyn’s competition history, where it is evident that he has been putting up excellent, but also consistent performances. However, Mike’s bench pressing abilities stand out the most, as he is one of the select few who have locked out over 615 pounds (279 kilograms) in a full power competition.

Jaisyn Mike is currently 45-years-old, but he has never been in better shape with regard to his bench press. He is making constant improvement with each day and week that pass, with his ultimate goal being to bench press 700 pounds (317.5 kilograms) in his home gym. Well, seeing that Mike just scored a five-rep bench PR of 562 pounds (255 kilograms), it seems that he is not far from accomplishing his goal.

Jaisyn Mike shared the video of his newest achievement to Instagram, which saw him use a lifting belt and lifting straps. These would be allowed in a sanctioned powerlifting meet, but Jaisyn only paused his fifth repetition. However, as his goal is to bench press 700 pounds (255 kilograms) in the gym, Jaisyn does not need to focus on all of the official protocols.

“GREATEST SET EVER!!!
562 LBS X 5 REPS PAUSED FINISH!!!
Fun fact:
This was my heaviest untested competition bench pr 7 years ago. I put in the work to do it the right way.
The 6 WAVE PROTOCOL IS UNREAL!
700 WILL FALL…”

Normally, Jaisyn Mike competes at around 300 pounds (136 kilograms), but just two weeks ago he said he was under that weight. Therefore, he probably weighs around the same as before.

Jaisyn Mike At A Glance

Jaisyn Mike started competing in 2014 when he was 37-years-old, so he has gained almost a decade of experience since then. He took part in over 50 sanctioned competitions and won the majority of them. The highlight of his career so far seems to be his victory at the 2018 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. In addition, Mike also set a new +120-kilogram weight class Master 1 IPF World Record Bench Press at that competition, having locked out 619.5 pounds (281 kilograms).
