Neil Hill is one of bodybuilding’s most impressive coaches. Despite this, he has been having some troubles, following being fired by William Bonac.
Bonac is a bodybuilding champ, who recently shook things up by firing his coach, Hill. Bonac made a video, putting Hill on blast, accusing him of being a fake. Hill was quick to politely respond to Bonac, with a lengthy video of his own.
However, Neil Hill decided to go into deeper detail on his relationship with Bonac. He spoke with Nick’s Strength and Power about these recent events. Initially, he spoke about their early relationship, reiterating a lot of the points made in his previous video, about not having taken 40% of his money.
“I never took 40% from William’s salary. I never touched William’s salary. The only contracted deal we had with each other was, and we have signed contracts of this, is that I would take 20% of his prize money, and 20% of his bonus money from the companies that I bring into his life. Not at any time did I take 40% of his prize money, 40% of his salary, 40% of his bonus., not at any time. Not at any time whatsoever.”

The conversation then took a turn, as Hill discussed the downfall of their relationship.
He elaborated that any trips he took for Bonac, Hill paid for his own travel expenses. Additionally, he made it clear that there was a point where their contracts were renegotiated with no issues.
“William and myself renegotiated a new contract, where I no longer took 20% of William’s prize money, I only took 10% of his prize money. And I have the contracts drawn up and signed by William, and drawn up by myself. That took place.”
Hill divulged that he approached Bonac about this, without being asked. They worked together to make an arrangement that worked for both parties. However, there was some issues where the contract was changed.
“Then William sent me a contract, and in the contract the contract had changed to what we agreed on, where William only wanted me to receive 10% of the Olympia, which we agreed on, and 10% of all other shows. But, if he didn’t win the Arnold, the contract was worded as if I wasn’t going to get paid.”
Hill did not want to agree with this, but then they reached an agreement on 10% across the board. Following this, the conversation shifted to Bonac’s complaints on Hill’s coaching ability. There was a disagreement with the two, over the training plan. Hill had concerns that Bonac’s progress was not what they were hoping.
After this, the topic switched to Bonac’s attitude with Hill. He noted that William’s respect for Hill changed. Hill kept butting heads with Bonac, with Bonac wanting to do his own thing. So, respecting his wishes, Hill sent Bonac an email with some information on their gameplan. However, Bonac snapped in a phone call.
“Then he phones me up, and starts threatening me on the phone. And then he put the phone on me, before I had the chances to say anything. I said ‘Okay cool, no problems. I’m going to send it anyway,’ And that’s when he went on Instagram. That’s exactly what happened.”
Neil Hill then concluded, by closing the door on their relationship.
“I really do love William. I care about him massively. Our relationship is over. I don’t feel like I need to apologize for anything I have done. Do I think he needs to apologize? Yeah, I think he needs to apologize. But I know William, he won’t apologize, because that’s the type of person he is. At the end of day I can look in the mirror and feel very prideful of who I am, and how I’ve conducted myself.”
It seems clear that the relationship between William Bonac and Neil Hill is over. Check out the full interview below.
