Nonso Chinye is undoubtedly one of the biggest powerlifting prospects currently, since he is consistently putting up some incredible lifts as a teenager. One of his most recent ones that left the community in awe was a 385-kilogram (848.8-pound) raw deadlift in training. With this lift, Nonso unofficially exceeded the U120KG IPF Junior World Record.

The deadlift is Nonso Chinye’s greatest strength, and he is looking to become the best in the world. So, in his constant chase for improvement, Nonso loaded 385 kilograms (848.8 pounds) on the barbell. Then, without any equipment except for a lifting belt, he commenced the deadlift.

The technique that Nonso Chinye used for the 385-kilogram (848.8-pound) deadlift came down to a conventional stance and a mixed grip. The lift itself looked unbelievably easy, indicating that an even heavier lift might be possible in the future. He also held the locked out position for a few seconds, displaying incredible grip strength as well.

Moreover, Nonso Chinye’s deadlift marked an Unofficial U120KG IPF Junior World Record. The official record stands at 378.5 kilograms (834.4-pounds) and was set by Etienne El Chaer at the 2023 IPF World Junior and Sub-Junior Classic Championships.

Nonso Chinye has just recently turned 19-years-old and is a fresh addition to the Junior division. However, he is already looking to set new World Records and win countless prestigious titles. He has won all of the major competitions as a Sub-Junior and hopes to repeat the achievement in his new Age class.

Moreover, Nonso Chinye’s recent 385-kilogram (848.8-pound) deadlift is just 10.5 kilograms (23.1 pounds) lighter than the U120KG IPF World Record in the Open age class. So, with multiple years ahead of him, that seems like a very realistic goal for Nonso in the future as well.
