Quest Protein Powder Ingredients
Quest Protein Powder Ingredients

The protein blend is made from whey protein isolate (Fast-digesting protein) and micellar casein (Slower-digesting protein).

Additional ingredients include natural flavors, and there’s less than 2% of the following ingredients; cocoa processed with alkali, sea salt, sunflower lecithin, cellulose gum, xanthan gum, silicon dioxide, Sucralose, and Stevia.

Some people prefer to avoid Sucralose and Stevia so this could be a deal-breaker for some people.

There’s also a decent amount of calcium (25%) per serving which is a vital mineral for bone growth, teeth, muscle contractions, nerve function, and regular heartbeats. (1)

Quest Benefits

The great thing about Quest protein is that it has an ideal amount of protein per serving, which makes it good for a snack in between meals or pre-post workout.

Protein is necessary for building and repairing muscle tissue and you can find your recommended daily intake using our protein calculator. And if you want to go a bit further, check out our macro calculator.

The fast-digesting protein (Isolate) is best for after workouts but the slower digesting casein is better for extended protein synthesis. (2)

Quest protein powder is low in calories, which is great if you’re trying to lose weight. It’s also very low in carb which means it won’t raise your glucose or triglyceride levels much. But a moderate amount of good carbs are acceptable for those who suffer from diabetes so there’s nothing to worry about here. (3)

Now, for those who follow a ketogenic (Keto) diet since fat is on the low end. Keto requires a high fat intake combined with very low carbs so the former is used as the main source of energy. (4)

Generally, though, you’ll want to consume enough healthy complex carbohydrates which will supply your body with energy for daily functions and maximum-effort training and activities.

Baking/Recipes

The quest was made with the baker in mind, and there are so many interesting, yet tasty recipes on their website like blueberry ricotta pancakes, Champagne cupcakes, and Snickerdoodle apple muffins… but the list goes on.

Quality/Effectiveness

Overall, Quest protein powder is a good product. There’s a good ratio of macronutrients if you just want a “protein” powder without much of the other macronutrients (Carbs and fat). But otherwise, you may want to go with a different protein supplement.

There’s a good blend of fast and slow-digesting protein too which is great for recovery after a training session.

Now, there is a small percentage (Less than 2%) of added sweeteners which may not be ideal for some people. However, the flavor is natural.

But other than that, it’s hard to complain about Quest unless you don’t fancy the taste!

Mixability

The salted caramel flavor mixes quite nicely without the clumps and anyone who regularly drinks protein shakes will understand why this is so appreciated. Drinking a shake is definitely preferred over chewing up the powdery pieces.

Taste

Quest makes some really delicious protein bars and the shakes are no different. Users are generally satisfied with the flavor choices but the salted caramel, in general, is pretty satisfactory if you don’t mind added sweeteners.

It’s a crowd favorite for sure but Quest protein powder is made for baking recipes so preference will vary.

Price

A bottle (1.6 lbs) of the salted caramel costs $27 for 21 servings which is not exactly expensive. It’s a decent price for a decent quality protein powder but keep in mind there are other flavors and size which vary in pricing.

Quest protein powder is a quality option with many flavors but we chose to review salted caramel. It’s a tasty, muscle-building treat you can drink as a shake or use for baking delectable treats.

Some people may not appreciate the added sweeteners but the flavor itself is pretty decent.
