Ramon Queiroz isn’t taking any downtime after his recent performance at the 2024 Arnold Classic. In a recent YouTube video, Queiroz joined forces with fitness influencer Jesse James West for a demanding arms workout.
Having gone head-to-head with reigning five-time Classic Physique Olympia Chris Bumstead, Ramon Queiroz is no stranger to performing at an elite level. He won the 2023 Arnold Classic dominantly, asserting himself as one of ‘Cbum’s’ greatest threats. However, when he attempted to defend his title earlier this month at the 2024 Arnold Classic Ohio, he came up short in second place to Dutch standout Wesley Vissers.
Despite the setback, Queiroz hasn’t lost sight of his ultimate goal: to become the new Classic Physique Olympia champion. With time until his next marquee competition, the Brazilian star took part in a workout collaboration with Jesse James West, who boasts nearly four million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

During the training session, Queiroz reacts to being one of the best Classic Physique competitors in the IFBB Pro League.
“How does it feel being top two in the world in Classic Physique?” asks Jesse James West.
“Man, it’s an honor for me, you know, it’s an honor for my people and my country to take the title of second best in the world. But, we’re going to battle to get first place now,” said Ramon Queiroz.
Queiroz also talked about how he deals with pressure while competing.
“Normally, I just isolate myself,” said Queiroz.
“I train arms every day and they still don’t look anything like his… almost…” says West.
“Cookies and energy drinks [were my go-to choices after the 2024 Arnold Classic]. Yeah [I ate a lot].”
Next, Queiroz revealed what has been the most challenging part of competing at the highest level:
“Damn, it’s the starving. I have to lose a lot of weight. Basically, 15 kilograms [33 pounds],” said Queiroz. “First, consistency and dedication. Rain or shine, it hurts or you don’t have to go.”
Moving on to machine preacher curls, JJW starts with a lighter set. Queiroz lifts the same weight using only his pinky finger, revealing he currently trains six days a week. He also revealed that cardio is his least favorite training routine and during contest prep is tasked with two hours per day.”
Queiroz gave his thoughts on training to failure.
“Do you train to failure or do you have any sort of way that you train compared to others?”
“In the past, I trained until failure. Now, I do 10-12 reps of max weight. It’s good to avoid the injuries.”
After their triceps finisher, Queiroz demolishes JJW in an arm-wrestling contest and follows that up with a posing session.
Since the loss in Columbus, Ohio, Queiroz has been open with fans about his future in bodybuilding. He made it clear that he intends to dedicate himself to the sport ‘1,000 times’ more in the coming months. Should he make the requisite adjustments to his physique, many believe he is still in the running to challenge for Bumstead’s throne later this year.
The 2024 Mr. Olympia competition is rapidly approaching. In celebration of its 60th anniversary, Mr. Olympia will return to Las Vegas, Nevada from October 10-13, where Queiroz will not only have a shot at redemption, but a chance to upset Chris Bumstead.
