Bodybuilding veteran Richard Gaspari has continued his dedication to health and fitness well into his retirement. Now, Gaspari shares his wealth of knowledge about the sport by training others and giving his tips for better results. In a recent Instagram post, Rich Gaspari demonstrates a killer leg day workout at Hidetada Yamagishi’s gym.
Richard Gaspari wasn’t known for being the most aesthetic, instead, he brought a combination of gritty hard work and insane muscle striations, specifically the glutes, to become a Men’s Open standout. Competing in the 1980s and 1990s, Gaspari went head to head with mass monsters like Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman and was able to hold his own with his dry cut look. With his impeccable physique, Rich Gaspari won the first-ever Arnold Classic title in 1989.

In retirement, Gaspari has been focused on anti-aging and longevity which is why he still stays so active in retirement. Having competed at the top level of bodybuilding, Rich Gaspari has vital knowledge of fitness and shares his tried and true tips while in the gym. In a recent post on Instagram, Gaspari demonstrated his early morning leg day routine.
“Got an early morning workout at @powerhousegymlasvegas where my athlete @hideyamagishi owns with @iriskyle Hit legs with all the different machines they have and I really feel it! Love to try out new machines to hit muscles differently. Legs are definetly feeling it! #legs #legtraining” Rich Gaspari wrote.

Before starting his workout, Gaspari expresses his excitement for Hidetada Yamagishi who is prepping for his 2023 Mr. Olympia appearance after claiming the 212 title at the return of the Masters Olympia. Seen standing in front of Yamagishi’s and Iris Kyle’s gym, Rich Gaspari is ready to hit leg day hard.
“I’m ready to get a leg workout at the Powerhouse gym in Las Vegas. Hidetada Yamagishi and Kyle Iris’s gym. Excited to use some of the machines here they really hit legs so I know they have a lot of variety of leg machines.
Hide’s got three weeks before the Mr. Olympia so I’m also really excited about him getting ready for the show after a big break and not competing so this is gonna be fun. Check out some of the posts of what I’m doing on legs.”

- Pendulum Squat
- Leg Press Machine
- Hack Squat
- Reverse Hyperextenstion Machine
- Lying Hamstring Curls
Richard Gaspari continues to crush it in the gym providing his favorite fitness tips including how he works shoulders and the traps without straining the lower back. He’s also demonstrated Romanian deadlifts for hamstring and lower back development. On top of his training education, Gaspari also speaks on current events revolving around the sport of bodybuilding including his view on how dangerous the abuse of steroids has become.
