As one of the best powerlifters in the world, Russel Orhii is constantly needing to train. However with no competitions on the docket for him right now, he is switching to his off-season training routine, and he has decided to share it with you.
One look at the chiseled physique of Orhii, and it is easy to tell that he is an ultra high level athlete. Although if this is not enough, he has world records to his name and is the only 83kg lifter to win the RAW Nationals three times. Clearly when he is in prep, he is constantly working his tail off to make serious gains.
However his work does not end in the off-season. In fact, as Russel Orhii showed in a recent Instagram post, he actually has a pretty serious routine even when he is not preparing for a competition. He actually chose to break down this workout routine in a post, encouraging others to test their luck with his plan.
“I don’t think I’m doing any powerlifing meets this year so it’s time to jump into the hyperbolic time chamber and get to to work! I want to have a COMPLETELY different total the next time I’m on the platform!
My “offseason” workouts typically look like this. I do my powerlifting stuff FIRST and then jump I into an extended accessory workout AFTER.
Yesterday my bench workout include a heavy single of 385lbs/175kg and then backdowns of 6 with 331lbs/150kg. I then hit a chest and back workout to finish the day 🔥

In addition to the training footage, Orhii actually spends the first clip posing like a bodybuilder, making us wonder why he has not dipped his toes more seriously into those waters. He says that he will likely not compete this year, which is a shame, considering how good he had been looking recently. Here he is a couple weeks earlier, hitting a PR with his paused squats.
It certainly sucks that we will not be seeing Russel Orhii compete this year. That being said, at least there will be this crazy workout that you can do in the meantime.
