Bodybuilder Sadik Hadzovic is feeling grateful following his latest health scare. In a recent YouTube video shared on January 7, 2025, Hadzovic revealed that he couldn’t breathe for days and experienced discomfort in his chest, leading to a sudden hospital visit.
For years, Sadik Hadzovic has been one of the biggest names in Men’s Physique to make waves in the IFBB Pro League. During former Olympia winner Jeremy Buendia’s four-year reign, Hadzovic gave him all he could handle on stage but was never able to win the coveted title.
Despite that, Hadzovic has proven himself a worthy challenger at every Pro contest he enters. Of late, he took home sixth place at the 2024 Chicago Pro and capped off his season last year with a fifth-place finish at the Tampa Pro. And while he’s largely gone under the radar since those events, he’s now back to break down what happened after suffering from breathing problems for days.

“About two weeks ago, Wednesday night, I was having a hard time breathing and I don’t think much of it, kinda feels like walking pneumonia kinda thing. You know when you can’t fully open your lungs? So, like any masculine, stupid guy would do, I just sleep it off.”
“Then Thursday comes and I’m dealing with the same issue, I can’t breathe like all day I can’t breathe and I’m like what the hell? he wondered. “Then, finally, Friday morning I’m driving to the gym and not only can I not breathe, I could barely drive.”
Despite having difficulties breathing, Hadzovic pushed through his workout before seeking medical attention.
“I went to the gym anyways despite not being able to breathe, warming up in the sauna and I just texted my wife and I was like, got a lot pain right here [in the middle of his chest].”
I go to urgent care after I finished my workout, of course, and the guy hooks me up to the blood pressure and he’s like ‘Woah, dude, what the hell?’ I was like listen I was just nervous,” he shared.
After seeing medical professionals, he was informed that his blood pressure was high, sitting at 180/97.
“He says listen, this isn’t nerves. You are 180/97. He’s like even if this was nerves it would come down a little but your still hypertension levels and the fact that you are complaining about your lungs I’m just worried you have a blood clot in your lungs.”
After an array of tests, he was still uncertain as to what caused the problems.
“I get admitted, same thing, blood pressure is still elevated but a little lower. They keep me there overnight for evaluation, did everything from the EKG, echocardio, I also got the CT scan with and without dye and everything is coming back perfect.
Blood work is coming back, like listen this is great blood work. EKG, this is great. Let’s do the echo, echo comes back great. Let’s scan your belly just to see if your organs are failing.”
From CT scans to EKGs, medical staff wanted to rule out a possible blood clot.
“They scan my belly, everything’s good. Give me the CT scan, and to me I’m thinking the CT scan, that’s going to tell me like fuck I got to go into emergency surgery. I have a blockage or I have a blood clot. So, I do the scan, it comes back fucking perfect.”
Thankfully, all of Hadzovic’s results came back normal and nurses chalked up his symptoms to being stress induced or even possibly a panic attack.
“When I get released she just taps me on the chest and tells me we all deal with stress differently honey and I was like no fucking way. Was this stress induced or maybe a panic attack? Apparently you can have a panic attack without even having those panic attack symptoms.”
Now, Sadik Hadzovic is taking medication to keep his blood pressure in check, something he has struggled with since he was a kid.
“I’ve had high blood pressure ever since I was a kid, ever since I was a kid my blood pressure has been high,” he shared. “So now I have to take Valsartan 80 milligram tablets every single day to keep my blood pressure down.”
Given the circumstances, Hadzovic took a moment to address the potential impact of steroids on his symptoms, revealing that he has been on a very low dose since his breathing difficulties began.
“I think it’s worth talking about the steroids as well. I’m not taking a tremendous amount of steroids at all. In fact, I’m taking one cc of test per week and half a cc of Masteron per week, which to me is like a very, like a really low dose, and I’ve been on that for three weeks since these breathing issues,” he explained.
In the past, Hadzovic had opened up about the ‘dark side’ of using performance-enhancing drugs, leading many to wonder if they have impacted his health. While medical professionals believe this situation arose from anxiety or stress, it’s still not 100 percent certain what caused his health issues.
With plenty still in the tank, fans look forward to hearing about his next show. In the meantime, Fitness Volt wishes him good health as he bounces back from this ordeal.
